The toner container includes a contacting surface to contact with the engagement releasing structure and to make the engagement releasing structure release the engaging state.

Toner container, developing device, process cartridge, and image forming apparatus that include an operating member to move a shutter for a toner outlet via a linking member

A toner container includes a container body that is used to house a toner and that is detachably attachable to a mounting portion in a developing device; and an operating member that is used to open and close a shutter. The shutter as well as the operating member includes an engaging portion that can engage with a linking member which is disposed in the mounting portion and which can perform a reciprocating linear movement. In the state in which the container body is not mounted in the mounting portion, the shutter and the operating member are in a non-linked state with each other. In contrast, in the state in which the container body is mounted in the mounting portion, the shutter and the operating member become able to be linked to each other via the linking member.

Toner container

A toner container installed in an image forming apparatus includes a toner container main body having a predetermined length and in which toner is accommodated, a discharge port through which the toner is discharged from the toner container main body, a shutter which opens and closes the discharge port, a handle provided on the toner container main body, and a pressed portion provided on the toner container main body and which is pressed by the image forming apparatus to project the handle out from the image forming apparatus.

An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, a toner storage portion, a developing roller including a toner bearing portion, and a cyclonic separating portion including an intake port, a first discharge port communicating with an interior of the toner storage portion, and a second discharge port communicating with an outside of the toner storage portion. The cyclonic separating portion includes a conical portion formed in a conical frustum shape whose radius decreases as the conical frustum shape extends downward. The first discharge port is disposed at a lower end portion of the conical portion. At least a portion of the conical portion projects downward with respect to an inner upper surface of the toner storage portion.

Toner container having positioning features for electrical contacts

A toner container according to one example embodiment includes an alignment guide for contacting an electrical connector of an image forming device during insertion of the toner container into the image forming device to move the electrical connector of the image forming device relative to the toner container during insertion of the toner container into the image forming device with the first end of the body leading in order to align the electrical connector of the image forming device with an electrical contact of the toner container.

A cartridge includes a first container, a filter, a second container for housing toner, and a pipe. The filter includes a partition between the first container and the second container and a held portion. With a direction in which the first and second containers align defined as a first direction, and directions perpendicular to each other on a cross-section perpendicular to the first direction defined as a second direction and a third direction, when the cartridge is positioned in an orientation in which the second chamber is above the first chamber, one of the first container and the second container includes an inclined surface that descends toward the opposing region, as viewed in the third direction, with a decreasing distance from the opposing region in the second direction, and the other container includes a holding surface. The held portion includes a first held part extending in the second direction.

DEVELOPING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

A developing device includes a developer holder that holds a developer containing toner and carrier and being supplied to an image holder forming an electrostatic latent image; and a conveyance section that agitates and conveys the developer flowing in from an inlet using a rotation member to cause the developer to flow out toward the developer holder at an outlet, that includes, as a part constituting a portion of the rotation member, a first blade part for conveyance to the outlet and a second blade part for conveyance in a direction opposite to the outlet, and in which a greater amount of the developer flows in from the inlet than the developer flows out from the outlet.

Toner cartridge having positioning features

A toner container according to one example embodiment includes a drive coupler and an electrical contact positioned on a first longitudinal end thereof. A first guide post and a second guide post project outward along a longitudinal dimension of the toner container from the first longitudinal end of the body. The first guide post is spaced toward a first side of the body from the drive coupler, and the second guide post is spaced toward a second side of the body from the drive coupler. The first guide post and the second guide post overlap with the drive coupler along a vertical dimension of the toner container such that an imaginary horizontal plane intersects the first and second guide posts and the drive coupler. Bottom surfaces of the first and second guide posts may be positioned lower in the vertical dimension than a rotational axis of the drive coupler.

A development device includes a development container, a stirring conveyance member, a developer carrier, a vent hole, a filter, and a developer leakage prevention sheet. The stirring conveyance member conveys, while stirring, the developer containing toner inside the development container. The developer carrier carries on its outer circumferential surface the developer to feed the toner to an image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is formed. The vent hole is formed in the development container to allow the inside and outside of the development container to communicate with each other. The filter is arranged to cover the vent hole from outside the development container. The developer leakage prevention sheet is flexible and is arranged inside the development container, opposite the vent hole so as to overlap the entire vent hole. A gap is formed between the developer leakage prevention sheet and the opening edge of the vent hole.
