A rotatable coupling is configured to receive a rotational force from outside of the toner cartridge, the coupling being operatively connected to the feeding portion and the pump so as to transmit the rotational force to the feeding portion and the pump to thereby rotate the feeding portion and drive the pump.

A toner case includes a case main body and a rotating member. The rotating member is rotatable around a rotation axis. A side wall of the case main body has a base part, a recess part and a bearing part. The base part is formed so as to cross a direction of the rotation axis. The recess part is recessed inward in the direction of the rotation axis with respect to the base part. The bearing part protrudes outward in the direction of the rotation axis from the recess part and supports one end portion of the rotating member in the direction of the rotation axis. An outer end portion in the direction of the rotation axis of the bearing part is positioned closer to an inner side in the direction of the rotation axis than an outer face of the base part.
TONER CASE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A toner case includes a case main body and a rotating member. The rotating member is rotatable around a rotation axis. A side wall of the case main body has a base part, a recess part and a bearing part. The base part is formed so as to cross a direction of the rotation axis. The recess part is recessed inward in the direction of the rotation axis with respect to the base part. The bearing part protrudes outward in the direction of the rotation axis from the recess part and supports one end portion of the rotating member in the direction of the rotation axis. An outer end portion in the direction of the rotation axis of the bearing part is positioned closer to an inner side in the direction of the rotation axis than an outer face of the base part.

A method and apparatus for discriminating bottle types, for stirring the toner, and for detecting the amount of toner remaining in the toner bottle. A toner bottle is adapted to fit the apparatus for discriminating toner bottle types, and a toner bottle is adapted for the apparatus for stirring toner. The genuineness of the toner bottle product is checked by sensing a rib assumed to be formed with a predetermined length on the outer surface of the toner bottle. Toner is stirred by continuously rotating the toner bottle in forward and reverse directions. The toner bottle can be easily rotated in the forward and reverse directions by sensing the rib of the toner bottle by using the sensor. Since the load of rotation of the toner bottle changes in accordance with the amount of remaining toner, the rotational speed of the toner bottle is sensed by using the sensor to check whether toner is close to empty.

A toner container includes an elongated container main body, a toner discharge port, a first rotation member configured to convey the toner toward the toner discharge port, a support plate provided in the container main body and disposed in such a way as to face the wall surface, and an opening and closing member provided between the wall surface and the support plate and supported by the support plate in such a way as to be able to move between a closing position and an opening position. The support plate includes a first opening portion formed at a position corresponding to the toner discharge port and larger than the toner discharge port in size, and a film member attached to the support plate in such a way as to cover the first opening portion and including a second opening portion formed at a position corresponding to the toner discharge port.

A developer cartridge includes accommodating container, a pump that is variable in volume, a feeding path member of which one end is connected to the pump and the other end is provided with a discharge outlet, the feeding path member being configured to form a path for feeding developer between the pump and the discharge outlet, and a transporting member configured to communicate the developer and the accommodating container and to transport the developer from the accommodating container to the feeding path member. The transporting member includes a moving mechanism configured to move a holding member between a first position where the holding member is capable of being filled with the developer from the accommodating container by accommodating the container and the holding member and a second position where the holding member and the feeding path member communicate with each other.

In the case that a developer supply container is provided with a feeding portion for feeding a developer by receiving a rotational force and a pump portion for discharging the developer by reciprocation, and the rotational force and a reciprocating force are received from a main assembly side of an image forming apparatus, there is a liability that a driving connection is not properly established between a portion of the developer supply container for receiving the reciprocating force and a portion of the main assembly side for applying the reciprocating force. The developer supply container is provided with a drive converting mechanism for converting the rotational force received from the main assembly side to a force for operating a volume changing type pump.

Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus is capable of being attached with a toner supply container. The toner supply container stores a toner that is to be supplied to a developing portion. An attachment location of the toner supply container is below a light scanning portion in a vertical direction.
