An image forming apparatus includes an attaching portion including an operation member configured to be movable together with a container shutter, a toner storage portion configured to store toner received from a receiving port, an actuator configured to regulate a movement of the operation member, and a control unit configured to control the actuator. The operation member is configured to open and close the container shutter from an outside in a state in which the toner container is attached to the attaching portion. In a case where a predetermined condition is met, the control unit controls the actuator to release a regulation of the movement of the operation member.

A toner container for use in an image forming device according to one example embodiment includes a body having a reservoir for holding toner, a toner port on the body in fluid communication with the reservoir, and a shutter translatable along a first dimension between a closed position blocking the toner port and an open position unblocking the toner port. A lock is translatable along a second dimension orthogonal to the first dimension between a locked position blocking the shutter from moving from the closed position to the open position and an unlocked position unblocking the shutter permitting the shutter to move from the closed position to the open position.

An attached portion of an image forming apparatus includes a rotating member of which at least a part is exposed outside the image forming apparatus when the developer container is attached, and a rotation restricting mechanism that is movable between a restricting position to restrict rotation of the rotating member and an allowable position to allow rotation of the rotating member, and includes a restricting member that is at the restricting position when the developer container is not attached. The developer container is attached to the attached portion so that the discharging portion engaging portion and the shutter engaging portions are engaged with the frame engaged portions and the rotating member engaged portions respectively when the container shutter is in the close state, and the restricting member moves from the restricting position to the allowable position when the developer container is attached to the attached portion.

An image forming apparatus includes a casing, an image carrier unit, and a waste toner container. The image carrier unit is housed in the casing. The image carrier unit includes an image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is formed. The waste toner container is housed in the casing. The waste toner container collects waste toner discharged from the image carrier unit. The image carrier unit is insertable or removable from one side in a first direction in the casing. The waste toner container is insertable or removable from another side of the first direction in the casing.

An image forming apparatus to which a toner container is detachably mountable includes a mounting portion to which the toner container is detachably mountable and which includes a receiving port for receiving toner supplied from the toner container, a passage for permitting passing of the toner received through the receiving port and provided with a through hole, and a filter portion provided so as to cover the through hole and for permitting passing of air; and an accommodating portion configured to accommodate the toner received through the receiving port. At least a part of the through hole overlaps with the receiving port as viewed in a horizontal direction perpendicular to a direction of gravitation.

A drum frame includes a first frame, a second frame, and a partition portion. The first frame supports one end of a photosensitive drum in a first direction. The second frame supports another end of the photosensitive drum in the first direction. The partition portion is not movable relative to the photosensitive drum. The partition portion has a passage opening through which toner from a toner cartridge passes. A development housing has a reception opening configured to receive toner that has passed through the passage opening. The reception opening is larger than the passage opening. The development housing is movable relative to the photosensitive drum. A seal is located around the passage opening and the reception opening. The seal seals between the partition portion and the development housing. A conveyor is located in the development housing. The conveyor faces the partition portion via the reception opening.

A toner container includes a pouch configured to accommodate the toner therein and provided with an opening at a first end portion of the pouch with respect to a first direction, with a width of the pouch in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction being wider than a width of the pouch in a third direction that is perpendicular to both the first direction and the second direction. A first supporting portion supports the pouch on a first side of the first end portion of the pouch with respect to the second direction, the first supporting portion extending in a direction from the first end portion of the pouch to a second end portion of the pouch that is opposite to the first end portion of the pouch. A second supporting portion supports the pouch on a second side of the first end portion of the pouch that is opposite to the first side of the first end portion of the pouch with respect to the second direction, the second supporting portion extending in the direction from the first end portion of the pouch to the second end portion of the pouch.

A toner container (32) includes a rotatable container body (33). The container body includes an opening portion (33c) and a plurality of projections (33a). The opening portion is on a first end, which is opposite a second end, of the container body in a rotation axis direction. The plurality of projections are each protrude inward and have a slope inclined with respect to the rotation axis direction. The plurality of projections are disposed such that, out of two adjacent projections in the rotation axis direction, one projection closer to the first end of the container body in the rotation axis direction overlaps the other projection closer to the second end of the container body in the rotation axis direction, in an area of the one projection closer to the second end and an area of the other projection closer to the first end in the rotation axis direction.

A developer supply container includes a container unit and a discharge passage forming unit. The container unit includes a containing member including an opening portion, and a connecting member including an engaged portion and a connected portion connected to the opening portion of the containing member. The discharge passage forming unit includes an engaging portion configured to be engageable with the engaged portion, and a discharge passage which is configured to communicate with the accommodating space via the opening portion and through which the toner can be discharged to an outside.
SWITCH DEVICE FOR TONER PORT OF TONER CONTAINER
A switch device for a toner port of a toner container includes a base (1) for accommodating the toner container, the base (1) having a toner outlet (1-7); a rotating block (3) having a toner discharge channel (3-1), wherein the rotating block (3) is rotatably coupled to the base (1); and a driving sliding plate (6), which is able to drive the rotating block (3) to rotate. The toner port of the toner container is opened when the rotating block (3) rotates to a position where the toner discharge channel (3-1) communicates with the toner outlet (1-7), and the toner port of the toner container is closed when the toner discharge channel (3-1) does not communicate with the toner outlet (1-7). The switch device has a simple structure, is able to be smoothly installed, and protects the internal installation structure of the machine.
