Image forming apparatus having drum cartridge, toner cartridge and memory with stored information to determine drum rotation continuation operation
A memory of an image forming apparatus is configured to store drum cartridge information and toner cartridge information. The drum cartridge information includes at least a number of drum printed sheets or a number of drum rotations. The toner cartridge information includes at least a number of toner printed sheets, a number of development rotations, or a toner dot count. A controller updates the drum cartridge information and the toner cartridge information stored in the memory in association with execution of image formation. The controller performs a rotation continuation operation of continuing rotations of a photosensitive drum and a development roller until a rotation continuation time elapses after a last sheet in a print job passes the photosensitive drum. The rotation continuation time is determined based on the drum cartridge information and the toner cartridge information.
Toner container and image forming system
A toner container includes a bag body, a coupling member, and a discharge member. The bag body includes a side portion and has, formed in the bag body, storage space configured to store toner and having flexibility. The coupling member is coupled with an opening of the bag body. The discharge member discharges the toner stored in the storage space. The side portion extends in a first direction from the opening to a bottom portion opposite the opening. Two-dimensional code is provided on an outer surface opposite an inner surface of the side portion that forms the storage space for toner. The two-dimensional code is located closer to the bottom portion than to the opening in the first direction.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS THAT CONTROLS SUPPLY OF CONSUMABLE MATERIAL FROM CONSUMABLE CARRIER
A controller of an image forming apparatus causes one of ink containers to supply ink, and acquires an expiry date of consumption of the ink contained in the one ink container. The controller decides whether the expiry date of consumption of the ink has been exceeded, through comparison between the expiry date of consumption of the ink, and a date and time that the expiry date of consumption has been acquired, and stops the supply of the ink from the one consumable carrier, upon deciding that the expiry date of consumption of the ink has been exceeded, and causes another consumable carrier, selected from the consumable carriers other than the one consumable carrier, to supply the consumable material.
Image forming apparatus including main casing to which cartridge is attachable and main memory and method of controlling image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes: a main casing; a main memory; and a controller. A cartridge is detachably attachable to the main casing. The cartridge includes a cartridge memory storing therein identification information identifying the cartridge. The main memory is configured to store therein history information including history identification information. The history identification information is identification information for a previous subscription cartridge previously attached to the main casing. The controller is configured to perform: in response to a cartridge being attached to the main casing, (a) reading identification information from a cartridge memory of the attached cartridge as current identification information; (b) determining whether the current identification information read in (a) matches the history identification information included in the history information stored in the main memory; and in response to determining in (b) that the current identification information matches the history identification information, (c) permitting use of the attached cartridge.
