The control section is capable of executing a cleaning assist mode in which, at the time of executing the calibration, a part of patch images on the intermediate transfer belt is transferred to the secondary transfer member. In a case of forming a toner image on the intermediate transfer belt after one belt revolution, the control section executes the cleaning assist mode, and in a case of not forming the toner image after one belt revolution, the control section continuously applies a reverse transfer voltage to the secondary transfer member.
Image forming apparatus including a dispersion unit
An image forming apparatus includes: an intermediate transfer belt that carries a toner image first transferred and is rotated to transport the toner image to a second transfer position; a second transfer belt that is rotated to come into contact with the intermediate transfer belt and pass through the second transfer position of the intermediate transfer belt; a plate-like cleaning unit that comes into contact with an outer circumferential surface of the second transfer belt to clean the outer circumferential surface; and a dispersion unit that comes into contact with a portion of the outer circumferential surface of the second transfer belt to disperse toner which passes through the portion on a downstream side of the cleaning unit and on an upstream side of the second transfer position.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS CONFIGURED TO PERFORM CLEANING OPERATION FOR CLEANING DRUM CLEANING ROLLER CONFIGURED TO COLLECT TONER ON PHOTOSENSITIVE DRUM
An image forming apparatus includes: a photosensitive drum; a magnetic roller; a transfer belt; a drum cleaning roller for collecting toner on the photosensitive drum and discharging collected toner to the photosensitive drum; a belt cleaner; a waste toner accommodating unit; and a controller configured to perform a printing operation for forming an image on a sheet and a cleaning operation for cleaning the drum cleaning roller. The controller is configured to perform: when performing the printing operation, collecting toner on the photosensitive drum using the drum cleaning roller; and when performing the cleaning operation, discharging the toner on the drum cleaning roller collected in the collecting to the photosensitive drum; transferring the toner on the photosensitive drum onto the transfer belt; and collecting the toner on the transfer belt using the belt cleaner so that the collected toner is accommodated in the waste toner accommodating unit.
Image forming apparatus having a cleaning blade supported by a supporting member
An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of image carriers, an intermediate transfer belt, a cleaning blade, a counter-roller, and a supporting member. The intermediate transfer belt is endless and, to it, toner images formed on the outer circumferential faces of the plurality of image carriers are transferred by being sequentially superposed on each other. The cleaning blade is arranged with its tip end portion in contact with the outer circumferential face of the intermediate transfer belt and removes deposits left on the outer circumferential face of the intermediate transfer belt. The counter-roller is arranged at a position opposite the cleaning blade across the intermediate transfer belt and is in contact with the inner circumferential face of the intermediate transfer belt. The supporting member supports the cleaning blade. The supporting member supports the cleaning blade rotatably about the rotation axis of the counter-roller.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image holding unit that holds an image that is formed of a developer, the image being intended to be transferred onto a medium, and an image that is not intended to be transferred onto a medium, a transfer unit that transfers the image that is intended to be transferred onto a medium onto a medium, a removing unit that removes the image that is not intended to be transferred onto a medium from the image holding unit, and a forming unit that forms the image that is not intended to be transferred onto a medium onto the image holding unit by using a developer and that has a first forming mode for a first medium and a second forming mode for a second medium that has a transfer sensitivity lower than a transfer sensitivity of the first medium, the forming unit being configured to use a larger amount of the developer in formation of the image that is not intended to be transferred onto a medium in the first forming mode than in the second forming mode.
