A fixing device includes a heating body, a pressuring body, a heating source, a guiding part, a temperature sensing part and a charging part. The heating source supplies the heating body heat used for heating the medium. The guiding part guides the medium to a nip between the heating body and the pressuring body, at an upstream side from the nip in a conveying direction of the medium. The temperature sensing part senses a temperature of the heating body. The charging part electrically discharges to electrically charge the heating body with the same polarity as toner, at an opposite side to the guiding part across the temperature sensing part. The charging part includes a discharging electrode electrically discharging toward the heating body facing to the discharging electrode and an enclosure wall supporting the discharging electrode, enclosing the discharging electrode and producing an electric field in cooperation with the discharging electrode.

An image forming apparatus includes a forming part that forms an image on a ribbon-like medium that is being transported; and a fixing part disposed downstream of the forming part in a medium transport direction, the fixing part including multiple fixing members, which are arranged in the transport direction and fix the image to the medium by applying heat and pressure to the medium. An upstream-downstream tension difference, in the medium transport direction, of the fixing member located on the most upstream side in the transport direction is greater than those of the other fixing members in the medium transport direction.

A fixing device fixes a toner image formed on a recording medium to the recording medium. The fixing device includes a fixing roller, a pressure roller, and a first heater. The pressure roller is disposed opposite to the fixing roller to form a fixing nip therebetween. The first heater performs non-contact heating on the toner image that has passed through the fixing nip and that has been fixed to the recording medium to melt the toner image. The first heater is disposed adjacent to a conveyance path through which the recording medium that has passed through the fixing nip is conveyed.
