Toner cartridge latching
A first replaceable unit is provided for use with a second replaceable unit in an electrophotographic image forming device. The first replaceable unit includes a latch movable between a latching position for latching the first replaceable unit to the second replaceable unit and an unlatching position for permitting the first replaceable unit to separate from the second replaceable unit. The latch is positioned to contact a latch catch on the second replaceable unit in order to prevent the first replaceable unit from separating from the second replaceable unit when the first replaceable unit is mated with the second replaceable unit and the latch is in the latching position. The latch includes a cam follower surface for contacting a camming surface on the second replaceable unit during mating of the first replaceable unit with the second replaceable unit to cause the latch to move toward the latching or unlatching position.

An image forming apparatus including a first member having a first face, a first protrusion and a second protrusion projecting from the first face, and a groove portion formed in the first face, and a second member having a second face provided with a first hole and a second hole. The first protrusion and the second protrusion are inserted into the first hole and the second hole. The second face is superposed on the first face so that the groove portion located between the first member and the second member is in a visible state. The second face is sandwiched between a part of the first protrusion inserted in the first hole and the first face. The second hole in which the second protrusion has been inserted has a gap between the second hole and the second protrusion in an extending direction of the groove portion.

An image forming apparatus, having a first photosensitive drum, a second photosensitive drum, a first developing roller, a second developing roller, a first moving mechanism, a second moving mechanism, a driving gear, a motor, a first gear train, a second gear train, and a third gear train, is provided. The first gear train having a first gear transmits a driving force from the motor to the first developing roller. The second gear train having a second gear transmits the driving force from the motor to the second developing roller. The second gear train is provided separately from the first gear train. The third gear train having a third gear transmits the driving force from the motor to at least one of the first moving mechanism and the second moving mechanism. The third gear train is provided separately from the first gear train and the second gear train.

An image formation unit according to an embodiment may include: an image carrier unit in which an image carrier is supported; a developer carrier unit in which a developer carrier is supported; a first bias member provided at one end side in a longitudinal direction of the image formation unit and configured to bias the developer carrier unit toward the image carrier unit; a second bias member provided at the other end side in the longitudinal direction of the image formation unit and configured to bias the developer carrier unit toward the image carrier unit. A first bias direction of biasing the developer carrier unit toward the image carrier unit by the first bias member and a second bias direction of biasing the developer carrier unit toward the image carrier unit by the second bias member are not parallel to each other.

The cartridge is detachably mountable to a main assembly of an image forming apparatus including a drive output member configured to output a driving force, and a main assembly side pushing member configured to incline the drive output member by pushing the drive output member. The cartridge includes a photosensitive drum and a cartridge side pushing member. The cartridge side pushing member is configured such that an inclination angle of the drive output member is changed by pushing the main assembly side pushing member.

An image forming apparatus includes a latent image bearer, a toner image forming unit, an intermediate transfer member, a primary transfer member, a secondary transfer member, a switching unit, and control circuitry. The toner image forming unit forms toner images on the latent image bearer. The primary transfer member transfers the toner images on the latent image bearer onto the intermediate transfer member. The secondary transfer member transfers the toner images on the intermediate transfer member onto recording materials. The switching unit switches a position of one of the secondary transfer member and the intermediate transfer member between a first and a second position. The control circuitry controls at least one of a first and a second operation. The control circuitry changes at least one of the first and the second operation when the toner images satisfy a specified abnormal image reduction condition at a first and a second timing.

An embossed component for positioning an article having a through hole includes a planar portion and an embossed portion projecting from a surface of the planar portion. The embossed portion is tapered toward a tip side and to be fitted into the through hole. The embossed portion includes a straight base end portion continuous with the planar portion and extending vertically with respect to the planar portion toward the tip side of the embossed portion, and an opening is at a tip of the embossed portion.
SHEET CONVEYING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A sheet conveying apparatus includes a conveyance unit to convey a sheet, a support frame supporting the he conveyance unit and having a mounting member, and an exterior cover made of metal and fixed to the mounting member by a screw. The exterior cover covers the support frame on a back side of the sheet conveying apparatus and includes a hook portion provided above a position corresponding to the mounting member in a vertical direction, and a positioning pin provided below the position corresponding to the mounting member in the vertical direction. The support frame includes an engagement portion, engaged with the hook portion and provided at a position above the mounting member in the vertical direction, and a through-hole, formed at a position below the mounting member in the vertical direction, into which the positioning pin is inserted to position the exterior cover with respect to the support frame.
