An image forming unit insertable into an image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum and a drum case supporting the photosensitive drum. The drum case includes a guide configured to (i) at least partially engage with a solid head of the image forming apparatus when inserted into the image forming apparatus along a first direction and (ii) guide the solid head in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction when the solid head is selectively repositioned along the second direction toward the photosensitive drum.

The image forming apparatus includes a cartridge replaceable by detachably mounting to the image forming apparatus, a door that takes a closed state or an open state, a locking pin that switches a state of the regulation unit between a regulating state in which the replacement unit is prevented to be detached from the image forming apparatus and a release state in which the replacement unit is to be detachable from the image forming apparatus, and a lock control unit (a control unit) that makes a determination as to whether or not the state of the regulation unit is to be switched from the release state to the regulating state, at a predetermined timing when initial processing is completed after a power source is turned on or a state of the door becomes the closed state from the open state.

A toner refilling interface structure including a toner cartridge, an installation portion, a first toner inlet portion, an inlet shutter, and a locking member. The toner cartridge including a discharge shutter located in or coupled to a body and to switch to a closed position at which a first toner discharge portion of the body is closed and to switch to a discharge position at which the first toner discharge portion is open. The toner cartridge is rotatable about a first rotation axis. The first toner inlet portion is provided in the installation portion to receive toner from the toner cartridge. The inlet shutter is provided in the installation portion to switch to an inflow position at which the first toner inlet portion is open, from a blocked position at which the first toner inlet portion is blocked, by a first rotation of the toner cartridge from an installation position to a first angular position The locking member is provided in the toner cartridge and to lock the discharge shutter at the closed position during the first rotation of the toner cartridge.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes an electrically conductive and grounded frame, an image forming unit, a print head, a holder that supports the print head, an electrically conductive urging member for urging the print head toward the image forming unit, and an electrically conductive arm extending from the urging member and electrically connected to the urging member. The arm floats when the print head moves away from the image forming unit and is electrically connected to the frame when the print head approaches the image forming unit.

A toner refill cartridge includes a main body including an inner space in which toner is received and a toner discharge portion through which the toner is discharged, a piston coupled to the main body to be movable in a first direction along the inner space and configured to push the toner to the outside of the main body through the toner discharge portion, a plunger configured to push the piston in the first direction, the plunger including a plurality of segment members. At least two adjacent segment members are switchable from a retraction state where the at least two adjacent segment members overlap each other in the first direction and an extension state where the at least two adjacent segment members extend in a second direction opposite to the first direction. A first locking portion locks the at least two adjacent segment members in the extension state.

A printer includes a main body, a development cartridge attachable to and detachable from the main body, the development cartridge to supply toner contained in a toner container to an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoconductor, to form a visible toner image, a mounting portion including a toner inlet portion connected to the toner container, where a toner cartridge usable to refill toner in the toner container is mountable to the mounting portion, an inlet shutter rotatably provided in the mounting portion to be rotatable together with the toner cartridge, the inlet shutter rotatable between a blocking position to block the toner inlet portion from receiving toner and an inlet position to open the toner inlet portion to receive toner, a locking unit to selectively lock and unlock the inlet shutter, and a controller to control the locking unit to selectively lock and unlock the inlet shutter based on whether the toner cartridge is mounted to the mounting portion.

An image forming apparatus includes: a housing; a cover; a developing cartridge; and a drum cartridge including a drum frame, a photosensitive drum, a pressing member configured to press the developing roller to the photosensitive drum in a state where the developing cartridge is mounted to the drum frame, and a lock lever, the drum cartridge being mountable to an inside of the housing in a state where the developing cartridge is mounted to the drum cartridge, wherein in a state where the cover moves from the closed position to the opened position, the lock lever moves from a locked position at which the developing cartridge is prevented from being demounted from the drum frame to a non-locked position at which the developing cartridge is allowed to be demountable from the drum frame.

A sheet processing apparatus has a main body with an insertion slot for a sheet cassette. The sheet cassette has a moveable pin member. A housing in the main body includes a lever partially rotatable about a first axis. The lever has a pin engagement portion at an end of the lever that rotates about a second axis and has an engagement groove into which the pin member can be inserted from a first pin engagement position and a second pin engagement position when the lever has rotated about the first axis. An elastic member applies a force to the lever to rotate the lever toward the insertion direction of the cassette. The housing includes a chassis having a guide groove extending along the insertion direction. The guide groove includes an inclining portion that is inclined with respect to the insertion direction.

A cleaning member that is used in an image forming apparatus and that is inserted from outside the image forming apparatus, the apparatus including a holding body that holds a substrate on which light emitting elements that expose a photosensitive drum are aligned and that holds lenses, the cleaning member including a rod-shaped rhabdoid formed of resin, a cleaning portion provided in the rhabdoid to clean a light emission surface of each lens, the cleaning portion moving together with the rhabdoid inserted in the image forming apparatus and opposing the light emission surface in an optical axis direction of the lens, and a magnet provided on the rhabdoid, the magnet emitting magnetic force that generates force drawing the holding body thereto so that the cleaning portion continues to contact the light emission surface.

An image forming apparatus includes: a housing; a drawer; and first and second process cartridges attachable to the drawer. The first process cartridge includes a first drum cartridge including a first photosensitive drum and a first developing cartridge including a first developing roller. When attached to the first drum cartridge, the first developing cartridge is movable between a first position where the first developing cartridge is detachable from the first drum cartridge and a second position where the first developing cartridge is not detachable from the first drum cartridge. In a state where the first and second process cartridges are attached to the drawer at positions adjacent to each other, the first developing cartridge comes into contact with the second process cartridge during movement of the first developing cartridge from the second position to the first position before the first developing cartridge reaches the first position.
