A drum cartridge includes: a photosensitive drum rotatable about a drum axis extending in an axis direction; a drum cleaner including a cleaning member cleaning a circumferential surface of the photosensitive drum, and a cleaning housing accommodating transfer residual toner removed from the circumferential surface of the photosensitive drum by the cleaning member; a first drum side plate supporting a first end portion of the photosensitive drum; a second drum side plate located distant from the first drum side plate in the axis direction and supporting a second end portion of the photosensitive drum; a pipe located between the first drum side plate and the second drum side plate in the axis direction and extending in the axis direction; and a conveyor device conveying the transfer residual toner from the cleaning housing to the pipe.
Image forming apparatus comprising development switching unit and current detection unit
An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member, a developing roller, first and second motors, a drive-train having a drive switching unit, and a development switching unit. The drive-train transmits a driving force of the first motor to the developing roller. The second motor drives the drive switching unit and the development switching. The drive switching unit switches between a driving force transmission state and a driving force non-transmission state. The development switching unit switches between a developing roller-photosensitive member contact state and a developing roller-photosensitive member separated state, and operates with an operation of the drive switching unit. When the drive switching unit transitions from the non-transmission to the transmission state and a detected magnitude of a current flowing through the first motor has changed, the second motor is stopped before the developing roller is brought into contact with the photosensitive member while driving the first motor.
Image forming apparatus incorporating toner holder dismountably mounted in body of the image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an image carrying member, a developing device, a toner holder, a toner holder mount portion, and a locking member. The toner holder is dismountably mounted in the toner holder mount portion and stores toner for the developing device. The toner holder mount portion has a pair of side support rails supporting a side face of the toner holder. The locking member is adjacent to an end part, in the toner holder mounting direction, of at least one side support rail, and is swingable between a first position restraining mounting and dismounting of the toner holder and a second position allowing mounting and dismounting of the toner holder. The locking member, in the second position, is on the extension line of the side support rails and, together with the side support rails, guides the toner holder to and from the toner holder mount portion.
Moving mechanism and image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus including a photoreceptor unit, a first terminal, a stage, a first protrusion, a second protrusion, a slider, and an exposure device. The stage moves from a first position closer to the photoreceptor to a second position farther from the photoreceptor in a second direction than the first position so that the second terminal is fitted to the first terminal. The slider includes a first position regulation portion and a second position regulation portion at positions separated from each other in the third direction. A thickness of the first position regulation portion in the first direction is thinner than a thickness of the second position regulation portion in the first direction. The slider slides with the first protrusion between a base portion and the second protrusion and includes a guide portion. The exposure device is supported by the stage.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus including: an image forming unit configured to form an image on a recording medium: an upper surface cover which is provided to an upper surface of the image forming apparatus and forms at least a part of an appearance of the image forming apparatus; a first cover which is provided to a front surface of the image forming apparatus and forms at least a part of the appearance of the image forming apparatus; and a second cover which is provided to the front surface of the image forming apparatus so as to be located above the first cover and forms at least a part of the appearance of the image forming apparatus. The first cover includes a resin material. The second cover includes a ferromagnetic material.
IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE READING APPARATUS
An image forming system (100) includes an image forming apparatus (1) and an image reading apparatus (50). The image forming apparatus (1) include a first casing (10) including a top plate (13) having a first opening (11) and a second opening (12); and a fixing member (20) disposed below the top plate (13), having a first projecting part (21) and a second projecting part (22) and operated such that the first projecting part (21) is protruded and retracted through the first opening (11) and the second projecting part (22) is protruded and retracted through the second opening (12). The image reading apparatus (50) includes: a second casing (60) placed on the first casing (10); a second carriage (52) being movable inside the second casing (60); a lock member (70) which is engaged with the second carriage (52) to restrict movement of the second carriage (52), and when pushed up by the first projecting part (21), is disengaged from the second carriage (52) to release restriction of the movement of the second carriage (52); and a third opening (64) into which the second projecting part (22).
PRINT SUBSTANCE GAUGE AUTHENTICATION
In some examples, an apparatus can include a print substance gauge to indicate a quantity of print particles an imaging device is capable of receiving at a particular time, and an authentication mechanism coupled to a locking mechanism, the authentication mechanism includes instructions to: determine a quantity of print particles within a print particle container, and unlock the locking mechanism when the print substance gauge indicates that the imagining device is capable of receiving the quantity of print particles within the print particle container.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCLUDING COMMON DRIVE SOURCE FOR DRIVING DEVELOPING ROLLER AND CAM THAT MOVES DEVELOPING ROLLER TOWARD AND AWAY FROM PHOTOSENSITIVE DRUM
An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, a developing roller, a cam, a developing motor, a first transmission mechanism, and a second transmission mechanism. The cam moves the developing roller between a contacting position where the developing roller is in contact with the photosensitive drum and a separated position where the developing roller is separated from the photosensitive drum. The developing motor drives both the developing roller and the cam, and is rotatable in a normal rotating direction and a reverse rotating direction. The first transmission mechanism engages power transmission from the developing motor to the developing roller when the developing motor rotates in the normal rotating direction, and disengages the power transmission when the developing motor rotates in the reverse rotating direction. The second transmission mechanism can engage power transmission from the developing motor to the cam, irrespective of the rotating direction of the developing motor.
