A drum cartridge includes: a photosensitive drum rotatable about a drum axis extending in an axis direction; a drum cleaner including a cleaning member cleaning a circumferential surface of the photosensitive drum, and a cleaning housing accommodating transfer residual toner removed from the circumferential surface of the photosensitive drum by the cleaning member; a first drum side plate supporting a first end portion of the photosensitive drum; a second drum side plate located distant from the first drum side plate in the axis direction and supporting a second end portion of the photosensitive drum; a pipe located between the first drum side plate and the second drum side plate in the axis direction and extending in the axis direction; and a conveyor device conveying the transfer residual toner from the cleaning housing to the pipe.

A fixing device includes a fixing rotator, a hollow pressure rotator, a heater, a holder, and a bearing. The pressure rotator is configured to contact the fixing rotator. The heater is disposed inside the pressure rotator. The holder is configured to hold the pressure rotator and the heater. The bearing is configured to rotatably support the pressure rotator. The holder includes a curved face contact portion having a curved face conforming to an outer circumferential surface of the bearing to contact the bearing. The bearing includes a flange. The flange is configured to divide the bearing into an inboard area and an outboard area in an axial direction of the pressure rotator. The inboard area and the outboard area are asymmetrical.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS HAVING MOVING MECHANISMS TO MOVE DEVELOPING ROLLERS TO BE IN CONTACT WITH AND SEPARATED FROM PHOTOSENSITIVE DRUMS
In an image forming apparatus, a first photosensitive drum is disposed upstream of a second photosensitive drum in a conveyance direction. Each of first and second developing rollers is movable between a contact position contacting a corresponding photosensitive drum and a separated position separated from the corresponding photosensitive drum. In a first case where a color print process is executed, a first moving mechanism starts moving the first developing roller toward the contact position, a manual feed roller starts picking up the sheet on a manual feed tray, and a second moving mechanism starts moving the second developing roller toward the contact position. In a second case where the monochrome print process is executed, the manual feed roller starts picking up the sheet on the manual feed tray, and the second moving mechanism starts moving the second developing roller toward the contact position.

An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, a developing roller, a cam, a developing motor, a first transmission mechanism, and a second transmission mechanism. The cam moves the developing roller between a contacting position where the developing roller is in contact with the photosensitive drum and a separated position where the developing roller is separated from the photosensitive drum. The developing motor drives both the developing roller and the cam, and is rotatable in a normal rotating direction and a reverse rotating direction. The first transmission mechanism engages power transmission from the developing motor to the developing roller when the developing motor rotates in the normal rotating direction, and disengages the power transmission when the developing motor rotates in the reverse rotating direction. The second transmission mechanism can engage power transmission from the developing motor to the cam, irrespective of the rotating direction of the developing motor.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus including an image forming unit, which is detachably mounted to the image forming apparatus. The image forming unit includes a storage unit configured to store a computer program for forming an image on the sheet; a detector configured to detect whether the image forming unit and the controller are connected to each other; a door to be opened to draw out the image forming unit from the image forming apparatus; and a locking unit configured to switch between a locked state and an unlocked state. The controller is configured to rewrite the computer program stored in the storage unit under a state in which the locking unit is in the locked state and the detector detects the connection between the image forming unit and the controller.
Retainers
In an example, a retainer may include a first latch, a plunger, a second latch, and a linkage engaging the second latch with the first latch. The plunger may actuate the first latch, and the linkage may actuate the second latch upon the first latch being actuated.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, an image carrier, a developing device, a toner container, a container cover, a driver, a lock mechanism and a lock restricting portion. The lock mechanism is switched to a locking state for locking the container cover in a closed state and an unlocking state for causing the container cover to transition from the closed state to the open state. The lock restricting portion obstructs a state change of the lock mechanism from the unlocking state to the locking state if the container cover is not attached to the apparatus body.

The support assembly may comprise a component to interact with a photoconductive imaging unit, the component being rotatable relative to the photoconductive imaging unit. The support assembly may comprise an air bearing positioned adjacent to a surface of the photoconductive imaging unit, the air bearing to generate a cushion of gas to support the component at a defined distance from the photoconductive imaging unit. An attachment includes a cylindrical portion for being mounted to a periphery of the driving shaft to suppress tilting of the driving shaft. Tilting of a driving-force transmitting member is suppressed.
