An image forming apparatus includes: a frame; a cover movable between a closed position and an open position; a fixing unit including a heating member and a pressure roller configured to form a nipping region therebetween; an adjustment mechanism configured to adjust a nipping pressure between the heating member and the pressure roller in conjunction with movement of the cover; and a link mechanism connected to both the adjustment mechanism and the cover. The adjustment mechanism includes an arm pressing the heating member such that the heating member and the pressure roller form the nipping region. The link mechanism includes: a first link connected to the cover; a second link connected to the first link and pivotally movable about an axis extending in a width direction; and a third link connected to both the second link and the adjustment mechanism. The third link is movable in a front-rear direction.
Image forming apparatus having improved accessibility to internal units
An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium, the image forming apparatus includes a discharge tray for supporting the recording medium, an internal unit disposed inside the apparatus main body, and a door serving as a part of outer surface members of the apparatus main body, the door being opened and closed to expose and cover an inside of the apparatus main body to the outside, wherein, by opening of the door, a fixing member that fixes the discharge tray to the apparatus main body is exposed to the outside, and removing of the fixing member from the apparatus main body allows the discharge tray to be detached from the apparatus main body without removing the outer surface members other than the door, and wherein detaching of the discharge tray from the apparatus main body allows the internal unit to be accessed.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a developing device including a photosensitive unit having a photoreceptor and a developing unit having a developing. A light scanning unit including a light source may be included to generate light to form an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor through a window through which the light is transmitted, and shutter unit may be included to open and close the window. At least one pressing unit is provided to press the developing unit to cause the developing roller separated from the photoreceptor to contact the photoreceptor. The pressing unit may further cause the shutter unit to open and close the window. An operating unit is connected to the at least one pressing unit. The operating unit is movable between an operating position to generate a pressing force by the at least one pressing unit to press the developing unit to contact the photoreceptor and a standby position to release the pressing force.
Image forming apparatus with detachable toner container
A lever member is displaceably provided to a toner container. A container locking mechanism locks the toner container at a mounting position in a container mounting portion when the lever member is operated from a first operation position to a second operation position in a state where the toner container is located at the mounting position. A locking member is displaceable between a lever locking position and a lever releasing position. A locking control portion controls a drive portion to displace the locking member to the lever locking position when a remaining amount of the toner detected by the remaining amount detection portion is equal to or greater than a predetermined amount, and controls the drive portion to displace the locking member to the lever releasing position when the remaining amount of the toner detected by the remaining amount detection portion is less than the predetermined amount.
Process cartridge and image forming apparatus
A process cartridge is detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The cartridge includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum, a developing roller, a drum unit containing the drum, a developing unit containing the roller and being movable so the roller contacts and is spaced from the drum, and a first force receiver receiving a force from a main-assembly first force applier by movement of a door from open to closed positions when mounting the cartridge and a second force receiver movable from a stand-by position by movement of the first force receiver by a force received from the first force applier. The second force receiver takes a projected position receiving a force from the second force applier to move the developing unit so the roller moves out of contact with the drum, the projected position being higher than the stand-by position.
Liquid jetting apparatus
A liquid jetting apparatus includes: a liquid jetting unit which jets liquid; a casing including a tank storing part in which a tank containing the liquid to be supplied to the liquid jetting unit is stored, and having an opening which allows the tank storing part to communicate with an outside of the casing; and a cover pivotally attached to the casing and selectively positioned in a closed position where the opening is closed and an opened position where the opening is open. The casing includes an engaging part which engages with the cover in the closed position to prevent the pivoting of the cover. The liquid jetting apparatus further includes a movement mechanism which moves the cover relative to the casing between an engagement position where the engaging part is engaged with the cover and a release position where the pivoting of the cover is not prevented.

An imaging device having a fuser and print engine architecture that enables complete interchangeability between fuser types with a common print engine. The imaging device has a frame configured to separately receive a first fuser assembly of a first fuser type and a second fuser assembly of a second fuser type different from the first fuser type. The first fuser assembly includes a first fuser frame having a first datum tab. The second fuser assembly includes a second fuser frame having a second datum tab. The frame of the imaging device has a datum aperture that is sized to receive the first datum tab that when inserted into the datum aperture, causes the first fuser assembly to be positioned at a first operative position, and the second datum tab that when inserted into the datum aperture, causes the second fuser assembly to be positioned at a second operative position.
