HOLOGRAPHIC STYLING
An instrument panel for a motor vehicle is provided. The instrument panel includes an instrument panel surface and a plurality of indicia disposed on the instrument panel surface. The plurality of indicia comprises holographic ink.
Identification medium
An identification medium can be affixed to cloth or leather products by sewing. A cholesteric liquid crystal layer on which an embossed surface for forming a hologram is formed, is sandwiched between a first supporting member and a second supporting member. A mounting region that can be affixed to clothing, etc., by sewing, is formed.
Container seal with removal tab and security ring seal
A holographic sealing member for a container comprises a heat actuated sealant or adhesive layer that secures the sealing member to a container, a metal foil sealing layer over and covering and adhesively bonded to the heat actuated sealant or adhesive layer, a holographic layer over and covering and adhesively bonding to the metal foil layer having an upper plastic layer and a lower embossed image layer, and a tab over and covering and adhesively bonded to the upper plastic layer that may be pulled to remove the tab and the plastic layer from a container, thereby exposing the lower embossed image layer which must then be perforated to gain access to the contents of the container.
IMAGE DISPLAY AND LABELED DEVICE
An image display according to an embodiment includes a first image-displaying portion that displays first information about a certain object as a first image of object color, and a second image-displaying portion that displays second information about the object as a second image of structural color provided by a relief structure, the relief structure including at least one structure selected from the group consisting of diffraction grating, hologram, and light-scattering structure having an anisotropic light-scattering property. According to an example, the object is a person, and the first image includes a facial image of the person. A labeled article according to another embodiment includes the image display, and a substrate supporting the image display.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A STRUCTURE ON A SUBSTRATE
A method includes dividing a single beam emitted from a coherent light source into at least two branch beams, and causing the branch beams to cross each other at a predetermined interference angle thereby generating interference light. The method also includes irradiating a target surface of a substrate with the interference light. The method also includes shaping the target surface of the substrate to a plurality of predetermined shapes, and repeating a first substep of irradiating each predetermined shape with every shot of the interference light, and a second substep of conveying the substrate in a stepwise manner such that the predetermined shapes overlap each other in the stepwise manner. The method also includes causing a line-to-line pitch of the interference fringes in one of the predetermined shapes to align with the line-to-line pitch of the interference fringes in a next predetermined shape upon repeating the first and second substeps.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INFLUENCING CASH OUTS FROM A GAMING DEVICE
A gaming device is described that provides a number of different methods for cashing out credit balances from a gaming device. These methods include providing incentives, such as benefits, to a player for selecting particular monetary forms in which to receive the cash out. Non-preferred cash out forms may be associated with disincentives, such as penalties, to dissuade players from selecting these types of monetary transfers. In certain embodiments, incentives and disincentives may be associated with a variety of available monetary forms for cash out.
PLASMONIC MULTICOLOR META-HOLOGRAM
A phase-modulated optical component for the visible spectrum is provided and is capable of producing images in three primary colors. The phase-modulated optical component is primarily structured by a plurality of aluminum nanorods that are arranged in several two-dimensional arrays to form a plurality of pixels. The nanorods can yield surface plasmon resonances in red, green and blue light. By tuning the nanorod size in the arrays, the wavelength-dependent reflectance thereof can be varied across the visible spectrum, thereby realizing wavelength division multiplexing operations for the phase-modulated optical component.
Out-of-plane computer-generated multicolor waveguide holography
Various examples of out-of-plane multicolor waveguide holography systems, methods of manufacture, and methods of use are described herein. In some examples, a multicolor waveguide holography system includes a planar waveguide to convey optical radiation between a grating coupler and a metasurface hologram. The grating coupler may be configured to couple out-of-plane optical radiation of three different color incident at three different angles into the planar waveguide. The combined multicolor optical radiation may be conveyed by the waveguide to the metasurface hologram. The metasurface hologram may diffractively decouple the three colors of optical radiation for off-plane propagation to form a multicolor holographic image in free space.
Azimuthally modulated scattering device
Optical elements with anisotropic, patterned surface relief microstructures in which information is encoded in the distribution of the orientation of different zones. From the analysis of the distribution of the light scattered from the element, the orientation distribution in the element and therefore the encoded information can be evaluated. The elements are particularly useful for securing documents and articles against counterfeiting and falsification.
Forgery-proof vehicle identification plate with a stamped/encapsulated hologram
The invention relates to an automobile metal plate for identifying a vehicle, said plate comprising a metal base, a reflective material, an encapsulated hologram that can be hot- or cold-stamped, and a laminating material which forms a single integral body comprising the reflective material, the hologram and the actual laminate. The structure of said vehicle identification plate prevents the encapsulated hologram from being modified in any way. The encapsulated hologram cannot be detached or erased or altered by any physical or chemical means.
