POLARIZATION SENSITIVE BEAM SPLITTER
An optical device includes a first polarization selective reflector; a second polarization selective reflector positioned relative to the first polarization selective reflector so that the first polarization selective reflector directs first light having a first nonplanar polarization toward the second polarization selective reflector and the second polarization selective reflector directs at least a portion of the first light toward the first polarization selective reflector as second light. The optical device includes a first reflector positioned relative to the first polarization selective reflector so that the first polarization selective reflector directs at least a portion of the second light having a second nonplanar polarization toward the first reflector as third light.
Light beam expanding device, image display device, and optical device
An image display device includes an image generating device, a light guide unit, and a light beam expanding device. The light guide unit includes a light guide plate, a first deflector, and a second deflector. The light beam expanding device expands a light beam incident from the image generating device along the Z direction and outputs the light beam to the light guide unit when the incident direction of light incident on the light guide plate is defined as the X direction and the propagation direction of light in the light guide plate is defined as the Y direction. The light beam expanding device is composed of a first reflective mirror on which light from the image generating device is incident and a second reflective mirror on which light from the first reflective mirror is incident and that outputs light to the light guide unit.
CAMERA DEVICE FOR GENERATING AN IMAGE OF SURROUNDINGS
A camera device having an enlarged or wide-angle field of view generates images of surroundings simultaneously using only one image capturing unit, such as an image sensor, for example. The camera device uses a diverting unit disposed upstream of the image capturing unit. The diverting unit includes so-called holographic optical elements which, based on their deflection structures, divert or deflect light so that the camera device can capture the wide-angle field of view, without generating imaging aberrations on the resulting image(s). The deflection structures are wavelength-selective and/or angle-selective. The total field of view is subdivided into individual angle-of-incidence regions by virtue of the properties of the deflection structures.
Laser water transfer printing film and making method thereof
A method of making a laser water transfer printing film contains steps of: providing a substrate material; coating a release layer on one side surface of the PET film by ways of a first coating apparatus; semi-solidifying a gold reservoir by using a heat solidifying apparatus; printing an ink layer on the gold reservoir by ways of a printing device; implanting a message layer on the ink layer by ways of an implanting device; embossing geometric patterns on the message layer by using a rolling device; plating the metal layer on the embossed patterns; coating a PVA solution on the metal layer by ways of a second coating device and drying the PVA solution by means of a drying device; separating the PET film from the PVA film by using a releasing device; and then rolling the PET film which has separated from the PVA film.
Multi-Layer Body and Method for the Production Thereof
The invention relates to a multilayer body with a volume hologram layer and a partial opaque layer, arranged on a surface of the volume hologram layer, which is present in a first area and is not present in a second area. The invention furthermore relates to a method for the production of such a multilayer body, as well as a security element and security document with such a multilayer body.
Dynamic aperture holography
Methods and systems for performing dynamic aperture holography are described. Examples include a method of recording multiple holograms in a photosensitive recording medium, where multiple signal beam angular apertures used to record the multiple holograms differ from each other. The multiple signal beam angular apertures can facilitate using a larger range of reference beam angular apertures. The multiple holograms are typically multiplexed, and examples of dynamic aperture holography enable packing the multiplexed holograms more densely in the recording medium. Some dynamic aperture holography systems include monocular objective lens architecture.
Virtual image display with curved light path
A display includes a projector configured to provide light of a virtual image, a waveguide into which the light of the virtual image is injected at an injection angle by the projector, and a combiner disposed along the waveguide and configured to redirect the light of the virtual image. The waveguide is configured to emit the light at a point established by the injection angle. The combiner is further configured to allow ambient light from beyond the waveguide to pass through the combiner. The waveguide constrains the light of the virtual image through total internal reflection along a curved path for the light between the projector and the combiner.
APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING A REPLICA HOLOGRAM, REPLICA HOLOGRAM AND ILLUMINATING DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE
A device for manufacturing a replica hologram, comprising a holder for a light-sensitive recording material, into which the replica hologram is to be imprinted, a holder for a master hologram, as well as a lighting device for generating light for exposing the master hologram, the color of the light generated by the lighting device being variable, and the lighting device comprising optics for exposing the master hologram with the aid of the light generated by the lighting device, the device being designed in such a way that the light emanating from the master hologram impinges on the recording material to manufacture the replica hologram.
INTERLAYERS AND ENCAPSULATION LAYERS FOR USE WITH HOLOGRAPHIC OPTICAL ELEMENTS
Interlayers that exhibit superior properties and that provide desirable optical properties when incorporated into laminates, such as windshields, windows or other glazings containing a holographic optical element (HOE) are disclosed. The interlayers, when used in a laminate in conjunction with the HOE film, maintain and do not detract from the HOE film properties.
Optical Systems with Low Resolution Peripheral Displays
An electronic device may include an optical combiner with a waveguide. The waveguide may have an output coupler that directs high resolution light towards an eye box within a field of view. Peripheral light sources may provide low resolution peripheral light to the eye box about a periphery of the field of view. The peripheral light sources may be mounted to a frame for the waveguide, to an additional substrate mounted to the frame and overlapping the waveguide, in a low resolution projector that projects the peripheral light towards reflective structures in the additional substrate, or in a display module that produces the high resolution light. The optical combiner may overlay real world light with the high resolution light and the low resolution peripheral light.
