Document with hologram, and method of producing same
A description is given of a document with a hologram as a security feature, in particular an identity card (12), consisting of a polycarbonate card body (10), which has a volume hologram label (2, 9) embedded therein. A description is additionally given of a method for producing the document, in which volume hologram labels (2) arranged on a carrier sheet are brought into contact with adhesive regions (4) on a thermoplastic sheet (5.1), the adhesive surfaces are cured and the carrier sheet is then removed. A second plastics sheet (5.2) is then adhesively bonded onto the first plastics sheet (5.1), bearing the hologram labels, using a second adhesive (7) in the region of the hologram labels (2) to form a two-layered sheet composite (6) which, finally, is laminated, together with further thermoplastic sheets, in a card-lamination press, under the action of pressure and temperature, to give a card body (10), individual identity cards (12) being punched out.
Method for forming a hydraulic transfer film, hydraulic transfer film, and patterned article
A method for forming a hydraulic transfer film includes: (a) forming a water-soluble sacrificial layer on a water-soluble substrate; (b) forming a first holographic pattern on the water-soluble sacrificial layer; (c) forming a pattern forming layer on the water-soluble sacrificial layer such that the pattern forming layer is formed with a second holographic pattern on a surface that contacts the first holographic pattern and being complementary to the first holographic pattern, the pattern forming layer having a water-soluble region and an oil-soluble region; (d) forming an oil-soluble base layer on the pattern forming layer; and (e) forming an activating layer that is on the oil-soluble base layer and that includes a curable activating agent.
INCOHERENT LIGHT TREATMENT
A system and method of performing incoherent light treatment is disclosed. The method may include securing a recording medium to a securing structure within an internal cavity and delivering light at least partially toward a baffle disposed within the internal cavity. The method may also include securing one or more diffusers to one or more surfaces of the recording medium.
Method and apparatus for producing embossed structures in radiation-curing materials
For the production of embossed microstructures in radiation-curing materials, use is made of a micro embossing form fixed to a reflective or scattering cylinder surface. Via a press nip, the micro embossing form comes into contact with the substrate guided over a cylinder or a deflection roller. The radiation-curing material is acted on in one or both pockets, before or after the press nip, with radiation which penetrates into the press nip by reflection or scattering.
Curved volume phase holographic (VPH) diffraction grating with tilted fringes and spectrographs using same
The subject matter described herein includes a curved VPH grating with tilted fringes and spectrographs, both retroreflective and transmissive, that use such gratings. A VPH grating according to the subject matter described herein includes a first curved surface for receiving light to be diffracted. The grating includes an interior region having tilted fringes to diffract light that passes through the first surface. The grating further includes a second curved surface bounding the interior region on a side opposite the first surface and for passing light diffracted by the fringes.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HOLOGRAPHY-BASED FABRICATION
A system and method may utilize holography to facilitate fabrication techniques such as 3D printing and lithography. The system may include a light source, a hologram of an original object or lithographic pattern recorded in a holographic medium, and a target such as a reservoir of photosensitive material or a photosensitive material attached to a substrate. Illuminating the hologram with the appropriate light source may cause a holographic image of the original object or lithographic pattern to form on the photosensitive material within the reservoir or on the substrate. Formation of the holographic image may result in the formation of a new object from the photosensitive material, or may facilitate removal or retention of photosensitive material as part of a lithographic process.

PLATE FOR CREATING HOLOGRAMS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE PLATE
A plate for creating holograms or other light-bending or diffractive microstructures on web-shaped or sheet-shaped printing substrates includes a relief for a relief printing process. The relief is formed of one or more raised dies and one or more adjacent depressions. A non-metallic microrelief for printing or embossing the microstructure is provided exclusively on the dies. The plate may be manufactured in a process in which a primary plate has a negative of the microrelief and the microrelief is created by molding the negative.
Laminated glazing having holographic film and method for producing a laminated glazing
A method of preparing a glazing, comprising: stacking a first glass sheet, a first interlayer, a photopolymer film, a second interlayer, and a second glass sheet to provide a lamination stack; deairing the lamination stack; autoclaving the lamination stack to provide a laminated glazing; applying a reactive light to the photopolymer film in the laminated glazing, wherein reactive light is applied to the laminated glazing through a master holographic film; and bleaching the laminated glazing such that the photopolymer film is no longer reactive to light exposure.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CURED PRODUCT FOR HOLOGRAPHIC RECORDING MEDIUM
A method for producing a cured product for a holographic recording medium by curing a composition for a holographic recording medium, the composition containing a compound (a) having an isocyanate group and a compound (b) having an isocyanate-reactive functional group. The curing reaction includes a curing step A in which the composition is cured at a temperature lower than 35 C., and the remaining rate of unreacted isocyanate groups after the curing step A is 10% or less of the isocyanate groups in the composition for a holographic recording medium before the curing reaction.
