Despeckling a computer generated hologram

A method for despeckling the image reproduced by a Computer Generated Hologram (CGH) including reproducing a CGH, and jittering a location of an exit pupil of an optical system through which the CGH is imaged, relative to an observer's input pupil, so as to shift at least some speckles out of the exit pupil. A method for despeckling a Computer Generated Holographic image including computing a first modulation for a first holographic image, and computing a second modulation for a second holographic image of a same holographic image using an initial phase distribution used for calculating the first holographic image as an initial phase distribution used for calculating the second modulation. A system for generating multi-depth image sequence comprising a modulation array. The modulation array comprising a plurality of light modulators which may shift light incident upon the modulators by a number of degrees. The plurality of light modulators may shift light in concert according to a modulation shift pattern. The modulation shift pattern can be configured to focus incident light to a voxel or to form a 3-D image. One or more modulation shift patterns can be changed or cycled through to raster one or more image objects in one or more image depth planes.

HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY

Disclosed herein is a holographic display which enables stereoscopic display of colors by changing a structure and mitigates a flickering effect by lowering the response speed. The holographic display may deliver an image to different positions for the left eye and right eye at the same time, thereby lowering the frequency necessary for supply of holographic image information. Thereby, the holographic display may address the issues of the afterimage effect and flickering effect in a liquid crystal panel-based spatial light modulator.
