Holograms and fabrication processes
We fabricate a stereoscopic hologram of an object by capturing a sequence of 2D images of the object, moving camera along a linear axis past the object and keeping the optical axis of the camera perpendicular at each of the positions. The camera lens and image recording surface are translated along the axis such that a fiducial part of the image does not move. The sequence is replayed and a first volume hologram is recorded by recording holograms of the captured images on a diffusing screen in different spatial locations on a surface of the first volume hologram. This is then replayed to form a stereoscopic image of the object and a second, volume reflection hologram of the replayed image is recorded to provide the stereoscopic hologram. A central image of the sequence is aligned to the fiducial part of the holographic image to make the resulting hologram user-friendly.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING COMPUTER-GENERATED HOLOGRAPHY
Provided are an electronic device for processing computer-generated holography (CGH) and a method thereof. The electronic device generates a plurality of depth layers (computer-generated holography) having different depth information from image data at a first view point, and reprojects each of the plurality of depth layers based on the user's pose information at the second view point different from the first view point to generates CGH.
Multi-plane display device
A head-up display is described. A spatial light modulator is arranged to display a diffractive pattern of first picture content and/or second picture content. A screen assembly has first and second diffusers arranged in a stepped configuration so that the first diffuser is spatially offset from the second diffuser by a perpendicular distance. A light source is arranged to illuminate the diffractive pattern such that the first picture content is formed on the first diffuser and/or the second picture content is formed on the second diffuser. An optical system comprising at least one optical element having optical power is arranged so that the first and second diffusers have different object distances to the optical system.
