SMART WATCH AND METHOD OF REPLACING COMPONENTS OF THE SAME
A smart watch and a method of replacing components of the same are disclosed. In one aspect, the smart watch includes a display panel including a body portion having a polygonal shaped planar structure and a corner portion extending from one side of the body portion and being bent away from the surface of, and at the side of, the body portion. The smart watch also includes a housing disposed under the display panel and having an area that is smaller than the combined area of the body portion and the corner portion. The corner portion is defined by the one side of the body portion and two adjacent sides.
LIQUID CRYSTAL DEVICE FOR A TIMEPIECE
A display device including a liquid crystal cell (2) formed from two transparent plates (4, 6) defining a useful zone (12), designed to define the visible zone of the cell in a timepiece, and incorporating electrodes forming a switchable display of an item of information and/or a decoration in the useful zone. The liquid crystal cell (LCD cell) includes, in the useful zone, a plurality of polarisers (16, 18) which are arranged on the outer surface (5) of one of the two transparent plates respectively in a plurality of separate zones (17, 19) and which each partially form the switchable display. At least two polarisers in the plurality of polarisers have a different optical property or a different polarisation direction between them. The device generates visually a variation between respective parts of the two polarisers and/or respective parts of the switchable display in the respective separate zones.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE FOR A TIMEPIECE
A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal cell (LCD cell), forming a horology display device, includes the formation of a base assembly (32), including the two transparent plates on which the electrodes (28, 29) are structured, and a cover assembly (66) including a useful part (50) formed by a polariser and a layer of glue for fastening the polariser to one of the transparent plates. To deposit the polariser precisely, targets (30a, 30c) are made in the base assembly and corresponding alignment marks (48a, 48c) are blanked in at least one working part of the cover assembly, such that the targets can be seen through the alignment marks when the cover assembly is placed on the base assembly when the polariser is glued to this base assembly.
