A control system includes a target device configured to be controlled based on a control signal, a sensor configured to measure a physical quantity of the target device, and a control device configured to send the control signal to the target device based on a command value and the physical quantity and perform feedback control. The control device includes a calculator that calculates a compensation amount of the control signal based on a set value of dead time and a model of the target device. The calculator calculates the compensation amount including a first term based on the control signal and a second term based on the compensation amount calculated in the past, and changes a coefficient of the second term from a predetermined value to less than the predetermined value when a predetermined condition is satisfied.
