Security Monitoring Device
A control device is protected from a threat which may occur with the advance of networking or incorporation of intelligence. A security monitoring device that can be externally attached to the control device having a program execution portion that executes a program produced in accordance with a control target includes a communication port for connection with the control device. When it is detected from a content of communication that a security event is generated in access from outside to the control device, a notification is provided to a notification destination corresponding to the generated security event. The security event includes an event that does not conform to a predetermined rule.

Decision system and method for separating faults from attacks
According to some embodiments, a plurality of monitoring nodes may each generate a series of current monitoring node values over time that represent a current operation of the industrial asset. A node classification computer may determine, for each monitoring node, a classification result indicating whether each monitoring node is in a normal or abnormal state. A disambiguation engine may receive the classification results from the node classification computer and associate a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) with each monitoring node. For each node in an abnormal state, the disambiguation engine may execute the HMM associated with that monitoring node to determine a disambiguation result indicating if the abnormal state is a result of an attack or a fault and output a current status of each monitoring node based on the associated classification result and the disambiguation result.

System, apparatus, and method for implementing one or more internet of things (IoT) capable devices embedded within a roadway structure for performing various tasks
Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing Internet of Things (IoT) functionality. In some embodiments, a computing system or IoT management node might receive sensor data from one or more IoT-capable sensors, analyze the sensor data to determine one or more actions to be taken, and identify one or more devices (e.g., household devices associated with a customer premises; vehicular components associated with a vehicle; devices disposed in, on, or along a roadway; devices disposed throughout a population area; etc.) for performing the determined one or more first actions. The computing system or IoT management node then autonomously controls each of the identified one or more devices to perform tasks based on the determined one or more first actions to be taken, thereby implementing smart environment functionality (e.g., smart home, building, or customer premises functionality, smart vehicle functionality, smart roadway functionality, smart city functionality, and so on).

SENSING DEVICE FOR FOOTWEAR
A foot presence sensor system for an active article of footwear can include a sensor housing configured to be disposed at or in an insole of the article, and a controller circuit, disposed within the sensor housing, configured to trigger one or more automated functions of the footwear based on a foot presence indication. In an example, the sensor system includes a capacitive sensor configured to sense changes in a capacitance signal in response to proximity of a body. A dielectric member can be provided between the capacitive sensor and the body to enhance an output signal from the sensor.
