Control of redundant processing units
A circuit is provided that has three clock sources, a first processing unit connected to the first clock source, a second processing unit connected to the second clock source, and an input unit. The first processing unit has a first logic circuit and a first memory circuit connected to the first logic circuit, wherein a first set of instructions, which is designed to implement a first control program when executed by the first logic circuit, is stored in the first memory circuit, wherein the first clock source specifies a clock timing of the execution of the first set of instructions. The second processing unit has a second logic circuit and a second memory circuit connected to the second logic circuit, wherein a second set of instructions, which is designed to implement a second control program when executed by the second logic circuit, is stored in the second memory circuit.
Safety input system for monitoring a sensor in an industrial automation system
A safety input system for monitoring a sensor can include a voltage sensing circuit configured to produce a first detection output upon sensing a signal exceeding a voltage threshold, and a current sensing circuit configured to produce a second detection output upon sensing the signal exceeding a current threshold and/or voltage threshold. The signal can come from a sensor in an industrial automation system, such as a light curtain. The first detection output can be provided to a first processor, and the second detection output can be provided to a second processor, so that two processors can independently monitor the sensor. The signal can be monitored by separate input systems. Periodically the first processor can inject a first test signal into the input system for the second processor to detect, and the second processor can inject a second test signal into the input system for the first processor to detect.
CONTROL SYSTEM, SUPPORT DEVICE, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A control system, a support device, and a recording medium are provided. This control device includes a storage unit which stores native code generated from a first user program that includes a sequence program, and a calculation processing unit which executes the native code stored in the storage unit. A display device of the present invention includes: a storage unit which stores sequence circuit information that is generated from the first user program and defines a circuit configuration of the sequence program; and a monitor functioning unit which acquires, from the control device, a circuit output state that indicates the execution state of the native code, and visualizes the execution state of the sequence program in the control device on the basis of the acquired circuit output state and the sequence circuit information.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR KEYWORD-BASED PLC PROGRAMMING
The present invention relates to generally to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and more particularly to a system and method to enables a user to accelerate the generation of PLC programs. The system includes a set of specific keywords and an internal algorithm that in combination with the industrial process information provided by the user, creates a methodology for PLC program generation, which is flexible enough to adapt to the user, PLC programming strategies, and other standards and practices.
Method and apparatus for accessing data or functions of a programmable controller via a network protocol
A method and a programmable controller for accessing data or functions, the data being stored in a database of the programmable controller and the database being assigned to an application program of the programmable controller, and a web server of the programmable controller being accessed by a client via the network protocol, where at least one program module of the automation program of the programmable controller is assigned to a web service of the web server, and where execution of the program module is initiated by the web service such that flexible and simply implementable access to data or functions of the programmable controller is therefore possible, and the access to the data or functions can be controlled load-dependently.

Safety controller module
A safety controller module for providing safety control comprises a non-volatile memory configured for storing a safety control program and one or more processing units configured to execute safety control functions associated with the safety control program to provide independent safety control. The safety controller module further comprises a connector configured to communicatively couple the safety controller module with a non-safety controller. The safety controller module is configured to communicate an input and/or an output signal of the safety controller module via the connector to the non-safety controller.
Synchronization of appliances to a schedule of a user
A method and system are provided that synchronize one or more appliances to one or more users' schedules. Sensor data may be obtained from a sensor. The sensor data may indicate a state of a first appliance. A user location may be determined. A first characteristic of the first appliance may be obtained. Based upon the user location and the sensor data, a schedule indicating when the user will desire a state change of the first appliance may be determined. A feature of the first appliance may be dynamically modified to cause the first appliance to operate according to the schedule. A notice may be sent to the user that contains information about the first appliance.
