Method and device for acquiring and computing data from an ophthalmic object
This method, which allows acquisition and computation of geometrical data of at least one pattern associated with an ophthalmic object (6) for manufacturing ophthalmic lenses similar to the object or complementary thereto, is of the type in which a device (12) for acquiring and computing geometrical data is used, which comprises: a transparent support (13) adapted for bearing an ophthalmic object; on one side of the support, means (17) for illuminating this support; on the other side of the support, a video camera (25) adapted for producing a video signal representative of at least one pattern associated with the ophthalmic object laid on the support; and signal processing and analysis means (27) receiving at the input the video signal produced by the camera, and adapted for computing and providing the geometrical data. The method is characterized in that: (a) a verification pattern independent of said geometrical data is traced on the ophthalmic object (6), this verification pattern being asymmetrical relatively to each of two axes perpendicular to each other; (b) the ophthalmic object is positioned on the transparent support (13) of the acquisition and display device (12); and (c) by means of said device (12), said verification pattern is optically captured and analyzed.
Automated loading bridge positioning using encoded decals
A device may obtain, from one or more cameras, an image that depicts one or more encoded decals positioned on a body of a vehicle. The device may process the image and may identify, based on processing the image, one or more characteristics of the one or more encoded decals. The device may determine, based on the one or more characteristics of the one or more encoded decals, positioning information to be used to position a loading bridge relative to the body of the vehicle. The device may determine one or more control signals based on the positioning information. The device may provide the one or more control signals to one or more actuators to automatically position the loading bridge relative to the body of the vehicle.
Tooling system with visual identification of attached component
A tooling system that includes a drive unit configured to provide rotational force to a tool member. The tool member is attached at a mount on the drive unit. A camera associated with the drive unit is aligned to capture a target on the tool member. The data is sent to a controller that identifies the tool member based on the target. The controller determines whether the tool member is correct for performing an operation on a work piece. If the tool member is correct, the controller may set one or more operating parameters on the drive unit. If the controller determines that the tool member is not correct, the drive unit is disabled. Further, a signal may be sent to inform an operator of the issue.

ROBOT AND ENCODER
A robot includes a first member, a second member that is provided to be turnable about a turning axis with respect to the first member, marks that are disposed around the turning axis on a surface of the second member, and a mark detection portion that is disposed in the first member and detects the marks.
Conveying systems and methods of associating data with an item transported by a conveying system
Systems and methods of associating data to an item being transported by a conveying system are disclosed. The item and data associated with the item are received at a first zone of the conveying system. The data is stored in a first computer-readable storage medium associated with the first zone. The item is transported to a second zone of the conveying system, and the data stored in the first computer-readable storage medium is transferred to a second computer-readable storage medium associated with the second zone.
PARAFFIN DISPENSER, EMBEDDER, AND CONTROL METHOD AND CONTROL APPARATUS FOR PARAFFIN DISPENSER
A control method and a control apparatus for a paraffin dispenser in an embedder, a paraffin dispenser and an embedder are provided. The control method includes: collecting information of a current mold so as to acquire an identification of the current mold; determining whether the identification of the current mold is correct; and controlling the paraffin dispenser to pour paraffin into the current mold, when it is determined that the identification of the current mold is correct.
METHOD FOR CONNECTING A MOBILE OPERATOR TERMINAL TO A DEVICE TO BE OPERATED
A method for connecting a mobile operator terminal to a device to be operated includes outputting a code using an output element associated with the device. The code is transmitted to the mobile operator terminal. At least one piece of information related to the device is determined by decoding the transmitted code using software installed on the mobile operator terminal. A connection from the mobile operator terminal to a control unit associated with the device is then established with the aid of the piece of information related to the device and a piece of information related to the mobile operator terminal is transmitted from the mobile operator terminal to the control unit associated with the device over the established connection. A mobile operator terminal, a device for medical diagnosis or therapy and a system including a mobile operator terminal and a device, are also provided.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CROWD-SOURCED ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM CONTROL AND MAINTENANCE
A system and method for crowd-sourced environmental system control and building maintenance includes a server for providing selective access to building occupants and managers. Users are permitted to generate building reports in the form of (i) thermal reports using a thermal report module, and/or (ii) maintenance reports using a maintenance report module. The reports are each geo-located to locations within the building, and are then captured, stored, and aggregated at the server. The aggregated reports are sorted according to their geo-locations and comfort rules are used to (i) permit a manager at a client computer to access the server to respond, and/or (ii) automatically respond and assign a response status to particular reports. An inspection checklist interface is generated and populated to display a list of preventative maintenance tasks, each of the tasks being user-selectable to designate completion, with the updated status of the reports being stored at the server.
Pre-cut infeed system
Embodiments provide a pre-cut infeed system for a machine center, such as an edger. A pre-cut infeed system may include an infeed, one or more saws arranged along the infeed, and a scanner optimizer system. The scanner optimizer system may scan a workpiece and determine whether greater value can be obtained from the workpiece by cutting the workpiece transversely into two or more pieces upstream of the machine center. If so, the workpiece may be cut transversely by the saw(s) positioned along the infeed, and the cut pieces may be fed sequentially into the machine center.
