Increasing scan rate of parcels within material handling facility
Systems and methods disclosed herein increase a scan rates of parcels within a material handling facility. In some instances, the systems and methods described herein focus an imaging device on a label attached to a parcel to capture image data of the label that is in focus. This permits the image data to be analyzed for discerning shipping identifiers that are used for sortation and/or processing the parcels. For example, a height of the parcel may be determined and a field of view (FOV) associated with capturing the image data may be correspondingly adjusted. Furthermore, other setting(s) associated with imaging the parcels may be adjusted. For example, lighting conditions may be adjusted to reduce glare, contrast, and/or brightness captured within the image(s), and/or other setting(s) of the imaging device may be updated, such as gain and exposure.
Controlling transport of physical objects based on scanning of encoded images
Transport of physical objects is controlled based on scanning of encoded images. In one approach, an encoded image on a physical object is scanned to obtain parameters. The parameters include specifications for a product to be made by a manufacturing process. One or more rules are generated using the parameters and then stored in a database. The database is queried to determine whether the product conforms to the one or more rules. For example, the query may include data regarding characteristics of the final product and/or the manufacturing process. In response to determining that the product conforms to the rules, the product is transported to a distribution facility.

The simulation reflects the actual behavior of a target in an application involving a target near a transporting surface of a carrier instead of being placed directly on the transporting surface. A simulator includes a creating unit that virtually creates a system in a three-dimensional virtual space, a tracking unit that updates positions of targets on the transporting surface in the three-dimensional virtual space based on a corresponding movement of the carrier, and updates a position of a target picked up by the processing device in association with a behavior of the processing device, and an instruction generation unit that generates a control instruction for the behavior of the processing device based on the position of each target. When the processing device places a target within a predetermined range from the transporting surface, the tracking unit associates the target with the transporting surface and updates a position of the target.

Provided is a control system including controller configured to manage ID information comprising a unique number of a carrier on which a goods is mounted from among a plurality of carriers provided to tilt in a second direction or a third direction, such that each of the carriers moves along the first direction on a goods sorter and sorts the goods to at least one of a plurality of sorting openings, a recognizer configured to sense a material of the goods and a falling point at which the goods falls in a sorting opening, and an analyzer configured to generate result data obtained by analyzing a tilting speed and a tilting strength of the carrier, wherein the controller outputs a controls signal such that the at least one of the tilting speed and the tilting strength of the carrier is controlled based on the result data.
Method and manufacturing plant for producing a product
In order to improve the planning and implementation of the manufacture of a product in a manufacturing plant, the manufacturing plant is modeled via a machine network plan modeling the manufacturing plant as a network of manufacturing nodes, and the product to be manufactured being modeled via a product synthesis plan modeling the hierarchical structure of the product in the form of a tree of product synthesis nodes. The machine network plan and the product synthesis plan are linked with each other to form a manufacturing sequence, in which a manufacturing node of the machine network plan is selected for each operation node of the product synthesis plan, which selected manufacturing node carries out the manufacturing process to be carried out at the relevant operation node. The manufacturing sequence is carried out in the manufacturing plant via a system controller in order to produce the product.

The display controller classifies the operational status information into broadly classified operational statuses and into specifically classified operational statuses and displays the classified operational status information. This enables an operator to easily recognize detailed operational statuses of the operating parts in association with the result of substrate processing.
