Self-learning apparatus for connecting inputs and outputs of a programmable logic controller to a field device
11138137 · 2021-10-05 · ·

Identification of the types of input and output cards of a PLC and proper connection of field devices to a PLC are achieved by connecting a self-learning discrete input circuit and/or a self-learning discrete output circuit between the PLC and the field device.

DISTRIBUTED DYNAMIC ARCHITECTURE FOR ERROR CORRECTION

Various systems and methods may be used to implement a software defined industrial system. For example, an orchestrated system of distributed nodes may run an application, including modules implemented on the distributed nodes. The orchestrated system may include an orchestration server, a first node executing a first module, and a second node executing a second module. In response to the second node failing, the second module may be redeployed to a replacement node (e.g., the first node or a different node). The replacement mode may be determined by the first node or another node, for example based on connections to or from the second node.

Methods and apparatus for a control station

Provided is a control station that may be configured to control and/or monitor various devices, such as, for example, industrial devices. The control station may comprise communication circuitry, a first processor, and a second processor configured to communicate with one or more devices via the communication circuitry. Information from the one or more devices are configured to be processed by at least one of the first processor and the second processor, and at least one of the first processor and the second processor is configured to output the processed information to one or more of: an electronic display of the control station, a display external to the control station, and a server.

INPUT/OUTPUT APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING AND/OR CONTROLLING DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENTS

Apparatus and methods for flexible input/output signaling over a same signaling channel are described. A programmable interface circuit includes a signaling channel that can be adapted, prior to use or during operation, for transmission and/or reception of different types of analog and digital signals. The interface circuit can be used for communications between an isolating communication controller and components of a machine that use diverse signaling types.

CONTROL DEVICE FOR INDUSTRIAL MACHINES
20210231748 · 2021-07-29 · ·

A control device for industrial machines includes a plurality of signal input-output circuits configured such that pulse widths of pulse signals output from the signal input-output circuits are different from each other. The control device detects a fault when a pulse signal output from one of the signal input-output circuits has a pulse width different from the pulse width set to the one of the signal input-output circuits.

Facility internal cooling grid
11133705 · 2021-09-28 · ·

An internal cooling grid is mounted internal to a facility, such as a data center, and includes a plurality of fluid transport elements arranged in a grid pattern with nodes at intersections of the grid pattern. Supply and return manifolds included in the nodes receive (and return) cooling fluid from/to more than two transport elements. Thus, a failure of one or more transport elements does not prevent a node from being supplied cooling fluid from at least a first transport element and a second transport element. In some embodiments, the cooling grid may be operated at a pressure less than one atmosphere, such that any leaks that occur cause air to leak into the cooling grid instead of cooling fluid leaking out of the cooling grid.

INPUT/OUTPUT BUS PROTECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC DEVICES
20210288651 · 2021-09-16 ·

Systems and methods for providing external bus protection for programmable logic devices (PLDs) are disclosed. An example system includes a programmable I/O bus configured to interface with a user device over an external bus interface coupled to a PLD; a bus protection circuit arrangement integrated with the programmable I/O interface and configured to provide I/O bus supply voltage protection for the programmable I/O interface; and a bus protection control signal generator. The bus protection control signal generator generates a default bus protection control signal for the bus protection circuit arrangement of the PLD prior to completion of a power ramp performed by the user device; an intermediate bus protection control signal for the PLD prior to completion of loading a PLD configuration into a PLD fabric of the PLD; and an operational bus protection control signal for the PLD.

PROCESS LINE HMI SYSTEM

An HMI renders on an HMI screen a process line which includes: a movable looper group part obtained by grouping at least one movable roll part and a plurality of line parts connected to the movable roll part; and a plurality of fixed roll parts connected to the movable looper group part. The HMI continuously obtains a process line length from an output signal of a monitoring target device. The HMI calculates a looper movement amount by dividing a difference between a process line total length and the process line length by the number of parts in the plurality of line parts which are shared by the movable looper group part with the plurality of fixed roll parts. The HMI changes a relative position between the plurality of fixed roll parts and the movable looper group part on the HMI screen according to the looper movement amount.

INPUT/OUTPUT SYSTEM

An I/O system having redundant removable and/or replaceable components. Each of the removable/replaceable components can be removed by displacement parallel to a common axis. An I/O device having an I/O base with a lock-out toggle to prevent installation of one or more I/O modules to the I/O base unless a ground screw has been secured to supporting structure.
