PROCESS MONITORING DEVICE, PROCESS MONITORING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
A process monitoring device includes a data collector, a statistic calculator and a comprehensive statistic calculator. The data collector acquires two or more variables indicating a state of a monitored target. The statistic calculator output each of the statistics that select two from the acquired variables. The comprehensive statistic calculator output a comprehensive statistic indicating a state of the monitored target based on a statistic output by the statistic calculator.
DATA COLLECTION APPARATUS, METHOD, AND PROGRAM
A collector (110) included in a data collection apparatus (100) performs data collection to collect data from a PLC (604, 605). A controller (150) included in the data collection apparatus (100) determines whether the collector (110) is valid depending on whether the collector (110) at a time when an instruction to start the data collection is provided matches the collector (110) at a preset time, and causes the collector (110) to start the data collection in response to the collector (110) being valid.
System and method for creating a set of monitor and effect blocks from a cause and effect matrix
A system and method of configuring monitor blocks and effect blocks associated with a process control system for a process plant includes causing a display device to display a graphical user interface, the graphical user interface indicating a first monitor block, a second monitor block, and an effect block. The system and method further includes enabling a user to input configuration data via the input device, including: (i) configuring one of the outputs of the first monitor block to serve as one of the inputs of the second monitor block, (ii) configuring an additional one of the outputs of the first monitor block and one of the outputs of the second monitor block to serve as inputs to the effect block, and (iii) designating at least one of the plurality of cells of each of the first monitor block, the second monitor block, and the effect block as a trigger associated with the respective input/output pair for the respective cell and corresponding to a condition in the process plant.
Method and arrangement for monitoring the status of a production device
Method and an arrangement for monitoring status of a production device configured to implement an industrial process or industrial production with a control device with sensors and actuators, where at least one further sensor is carried through the production device with a product being processed by the production device, where further signals are wirelessly transmitted to a status-monitoring device by the further sensor, and where the signals and/or status information items and the further signals are placeable in relationship with one another to generate status information item about the production device such that it is possible to plan the status monitoring separately from the production device, and possible to combine information items of the industrial control device with the information items and data of a mobile sensor (further sensor) that passes through the production device, such that more precise status information items about the production device status can be acquired.
Method and system of detecting device rearrangement in manufacturing field
Example implementations described herein involve a device rearrangement detection system and method. Example implementations maintain the structure of devices in manufacturing field stored in an information technology (IT) system to the latest version, even if the IT system is on a network that is isolated from the devices in the manufacturing field.
I/O MESH ARCHITECTURE FOR A SAFETY INSTRUMENTED SYSTEM
A safety instrumented system (SIS) includes safety controllers, and safety input/output (I/O) modules coupled to safety field devices that are coupled in parallel with a process control system's field devices to processing equipment which is configured and controlled to run a process. An I/O mesh network between the safety controllers and the safety I/O modules is configured for selecting any safety controller to become coupled to any safety I/O module to function as a pool of safety I/O modules so that any safety controller is configurable to receive sensor signals from and transmit control signals to any safety field device. The safety field devices are for monitoring process variable(s) for the process so that when one of the safety controllers recognizes a hazardous condition regarding the processing equipment, the SIS independently takes action to keep the processing equipment under control or bring it to a safe state.
PROCESS LINE HMI SYSTEM
An HMI renders on an HMI screen a process line which includes: a movable looper group part obtained by grouping at least one movable roll part and a plurality of line parts connected to the movable roll part; and a plurality of fixed roll parts connected to the movable looper group part. The HMI continuously obtains a process line length from an output signal of a monitoring target device. The HMI calculates a looper movement amount by dividing a difference between a process line total length and the process line length by the number of parts in the plurality of line parts which are shared by the movable looper group part with the plurality of fixed roll parts. The HMI changes a relative position between the plurality of fixed roll parts and the movable looper group part on the HMI screen according to the looper movement amount.
MITIGATION OF EXTERNAL EXPOSURE OF ENERGY DELIVERY SYSTEMS
Method include receiving banner information from one or more queries of a network connecting a set of devices, wherein the banner information of one or more of the devices includes common vulnerability and exposure identifiers (CVEs) and the banner information of one or more of the devices does not include a CVE, identifying the devices based on the banner information including classifying devices without known CVEs by a device type, determining vulnerability scores for the devices with known CVEs based on retrieved CVE information, and determining vulnerability scores for the devices without CVEs based on a series of exploitability and impact parameter estimates associated with the device type classifications. Some methods include estimating a cyberattack vulnerability risk for the devices using the determined vulnerability scores.
Methods and apparatus to validate valve position parameters
Methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to validate position parameters of a valve are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a field device, the field device further including a sensor interface to receive an unprocessed valve position parameter from a sensor and a position comparator to determine a deviation between the unprocessed valve position parameter and an interpreted valve position parameter and a valve position validator apparatus, the valve position validator apparatus further including a parameter comparator to determine if the deviation exceeds a threshold and an alert generator to generate an alert when the parameter comparator determines the deviation exceeds the threshold.
System for monitoring a technical device
A system for monitoring a technical device. The system has a capturing means for reading in a first visual representation containing information regarding a setting parameter and/or a measurement parameter of a controller to control the technical device. The setting parameter and/or the measurement parameter characterizes a state of the technical device. The system may have a scanning means for detecting a symbol in the visual representation; a database for associating the setting parameter and/or the measurement parameter with the detected symbol; an interface to the controller to capture a value of the setting parameter and/or of the measurement parameter of the controller; and an image generation means for generating a second visual representation coupled to the controller such that information of the setting parameter and/or the measurement parameter is displayed with the first visual representation. The system has an image display means for presenting the generated second visual representation.
