Automated retrofit installation tool for replacement of one or more pre-existing dedicated input/output (I/O) modules and terminal boards with one or more universal I/O modules
Described are systems, methods and computer-program product for replacing a prior input/output (I/O) module and terminal board with a universal I/O device by providing software based instructions and configuration settings for the installer. The method includes provisions for new wiring changes or harnesses as well as preset adapters, converting prior device configuration settings from an I/O module, pack, and/or terminal board to new configuration settings for a programmable I/O device, generating a wiring chart for any wiring changes based on the settings, and displaying the information for the installer and/or programmer's use. This allows a universal I/O device capable of each channel having different operating modes to replace one or more of a mixture of several types of dedicated I/O modules. The installation documentation and configurations are automatically generated, reducing the chance of errors due to misinterpretation of multiple product documents while allowing the automatic transfer of product settings.
Self-learning routine for checking compatibility
A control program for an industrial technical control system is created via a planning tool, wherein the control program includes program data that are assigned names by the planning tool, where beforehand, the planning tool checks the names of the program data of the control program via a checking routine for compatibility with the data processing device, and if the planning tool identifies an incompatibility by means of the checking routine, then it outputs a corresponding error message to the user, otherwise it outputs to the user either no message or a message indicating that no errors have been identified, and the planning tool receives an assessment of the control program from the data processing device and post-trains the checking routine based on the relevant control program and received assessment such that the checking routine gradually learns which names for the program data are compatible with the data processing device.

METHOD OF OPERATING A BIOPROCESS ARRANGEMENT TO PERFORM AT LEAST ONE REPETITION OF A BIOPROCESS
A method of operating a bioprocess arrangement to perform repetition of a bioprocess, wherein the bioprocess arrangement comprises a replaceable electronic component, wherein a process control system controls the bioprocess arrangement, using a digital model. The replaceable electronic components are removed and replaced by new electronic components, the process control system automatically detects the removal of the electronic components, automatically detects the presence of the new electronic components and retrieves digital representations of the new components, the process control system derives from the digital representations of the replaceable components and the new components a functional relationship, the process control system replaces the digital representations of the replaceable components with the digital representations of the new components based on the functional relationship thereby updating the digital model, and, that the process control system controls the bioprocess arrangement to perform the bioprocess based on the updated digital model.
