SUPPORT APPARATUSES COMPRISING COOLING ELEMENTS
A support apparatus configured to support a person is provided. The support apparatus includes a top surface including one or more predetermined areas, one or more conduits located inside the support apparatus which are located proximate to the one or more predetermined areas, and an air supply configured to provide air to the one or more conduits for delivering to the one or more predetermined areas. The air supply includes a temperature sensor configured to measure a temperature of the air provided by the air supply, a cooling element, and a controller communicatively coupled to the temperature sensor and the cooling element. The controller determines whether the measured temperature of the air is higher than a predetermined temperature, and controls the cooling element to cool the air to the predetermined temperature if it is determined that the temperature of the air is higher than the predetermined temperature.
DEVICE FOR HEATING A PATIENT BEARING AREA OF AN OPERATING TABLE
Devices, arrangements, and methods for heating a patient bearing area of an operating table, including a heating element for heating a patient bearing area of an operating table, with a heating element for heating a fluid that transfers heat, an elastically deformable flow layer of the patient bearing area through which the heated fluid can flow, and a fluid-tight sealing layer of the patient bearing area arranged between a surface of the patient bearing area provided for contact with the patient and said flow layer. The device may include a flow circuit for the circulating, heat-bearing fluid formed as a closed path.
Method and positioning system for determining a region to be examined in a subject
A method and positioning system for determining a region to be examined in a subject on a movable support of a medical imaging system. The method includes: a) manually specifying the region by positioning a predetermined marker object in relation to the subject; b) acquiring the position of the marker object by an acquisition apparatus; c) projecting or displaying a feedback marking by a projection apparatus at the acquired position on the subject, wherein the position of the marker object and the acquired position are adjustable; d) calculating a scan position of the movable support on the basis of the acquired position by means of a computer unit, wherein in the scan position, the region to be examined is arranged in an acquisition region of the imaging system; and e) automatically moving the movable support into the scan position with a motor.
PET IMAGING SYSTEM COOLING
A positron emission tomography, PET, imaging system (100) includes a plurality of detector modules (130.sub.1 . . . i). Each detector module (130.sub.1 . . . i) includes a cooling unit (130c.sub.1 . . . i) with a heat-transfer region (170). The heat transfer region (170) of each cooling unit (130c.sub.1 . . . i) is thermally coupled to a photodetector array (130b.sub.1 . . . i) of the corresponding detector module for cooling the photodetector array. The cooling units are configured to be fluidically coupled in parallel to at least one cooling fluid source.
ANIMAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHODS THEREOF
Provided herein are apparatuses, systems, and methods of controlling the temperature of an animal being imaged under anesthesia. For example, the animal is placed under anesthesia on an animal bed apparatus within an imaging system, the temperature of a conditioned air flow from the air injector via a temperature control apparatus is measured using an air temperature sensor, the temperature of the animal's body is measured using an animal temperature sensor, the temperature of the conditioned air flow to the animal and the temperature of the animal's body is monitored using a controller in communication with a temperature control apparatus, air temperature sensor, and animal temperature sensor, and the temperature of the conditioned air directed over the animal is automatically adjusted using the temperature control apparatus.
