Proximity detection

An N-M tomography system comprising: a carrier for the subject of an examination procedure; a plurality of detector heads; a carrier for the detector heads; and a detector positioning arrangement operable to position the detector heads during performance of a scan without interference or collision between adjacent detector heads to establish a variable bore size and configuration for the examination. Additionally, collimated detectors providing variable spatial resolution for SPECT imaging and which can also be used for PET imaging, whereby one set of detectors can be selectably used for either modality, or for both simultaneously.

MOBILE ANATOMICAL IMAGING SYSTEM WITH IMPROVED MOVEMENT SYSTEM

A new and improved anatomical imaging system which includes a new and improved movement system, wherein the movement system comprises an omnidirectional powered drive unit and wherein the movement system can substantially eliminate lateral walk (or drift) over the complete stroke of a scan, even when the floor includes substantial irregularities, whereby to improve the accuracy of the scan results and avoid unintentional engagement of the anatomical imaging system with the bed or gurney which is supporting the patient.

Systems and methods for controlling an x-ray imaging device

A method for controlling the movement of an X-ray source via a suspension device includes obtaining, during a movement of the suspension device along the rail, a first speed of the suspension device at the first reference point. The first reference point may correspond to a first target position. The method may also include determining whether the first speed of the suspension device at the first reference point is less than a threshold speed. In response to a result of the determination that the first speed of the suspension device at the first reference point is less than the threshold speed, the method may further include actuating a control device to move the suspension device to the first target position.

RADIATION SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND DEVICES

The present disclosure provides a gantry for an X-ray system. The gantry may include a base section, a lifting section, and a swing section. The base section may be configured to move. A first end of the lifting section may be connected to the base section. A first end of the swing section may be rotatably connected to a second end of the lifting section. A radiation assembly may be disposed on a second end of the swing section.

A mobile radiography system includes a wheeled transport frame and a vertical column mounted on the transport frame. A boom is attached to the vertical column and to an x-ray tube head. A boom carriage allows movement of the boom along a track in the vertical column and includes a magnetic mechanism to lock the boom in the track at a desired height. An electromagnetic coil in the boom carriage is configured to disable the magnetic lock mechanism to allow vertical movement of the boom along the track.

Polymer magnetic braking system and method

A mobile radiography system includes a wheeled transport frame and a vertical column mounted on the transport frame. A telescoping arm is attached to the vertical column and to an x-ray tube head. The telescoping arm includes a first section, a second section movable within the first section, and a third section movable within the second section. The first section and the second section each include a drag assembly configured to provide a drag force on the linearly movable section therewithin. The drag assemblies each include a friction material pressed against the linearly movable section to provide a constant drag force on the linearly movable section while it moves. A permanent pressure source presses the friction material against the linearly movable section.

A mobile radiography system includes a wheeled transport frame and a vertical column mounted on the transport frame. A telescoping arm is attached to the vertical column and to an x-ray tube head. The telescoping arm allows an operator to rotate the tube head to a desired orientation and then to fix the tube head in the desired orientation without mechanical impact noise. A permanent magnet and an electromagnetic coil assembly allows an operator to easily and quietly control rotation of the tube head.
