COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMAGE IMPROVEMENT USING PRIOR IMAGE
A computed tomography (CT) system and method is provided. The CT system is used to carry out an image improvement method in which a prior or previously-acquired patient image can be used to supplement or otherwise improve an acquired CT image, wherein the acquired projection data representative of the acquired CT image might be truncated or otherwise incomplete/insufficient to accurately and stably recover the scanned object/patient.
MULTI-PASS COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY SCANS FOR IMPROVED WORKFLOW AND PERFORMANCE
An x-ray imaging apparatus and associated methods are provided to execute multi-pass imaging scans for improved quality and workflow. An imaging scan can be segmented into multiple passes that are faster than the full imaging scan. Data received by an initial scan pass can be utilized early in the workflow and of sufficient quality for treatment setup, including while the another scan pass is executed to generate data needed for higher quality images, which may be needed for treatment planning. In one embodiment, a data acquisition and reconstruction technique is used when the detector is offset in the channel and/or axial direction for a large FOV during multiple passes.
SYSTEM WITH A SPATIALLY EXPANSIVE X-RAY SOURCE FOR X-RAY IMAGING
Disclosed herein is a system, comprising: a first X-ray source comprising a plurality of X-ray generators configured to respectively emit a plurality of X-rays toward an object; and a first X-ray detector configured to detect images of the object formed respectively by the plurality of X-rays from the first X-ray source.
Tomographic x-ray image reconstruction
An apparatus for image reconstruction that includes input circuitry configured to acquire, from an image sequence, first and second 2D projection data of a region of interest of an object at respective acquisition times; and provide first 3D object data of a first object in a region of interest and second 3D object data of a second object in a region of interest. The apparatus also includes a processor configured to generate a first registration of the first and/or second 3D object data to the first 2D projection data and a second registration of the first and/or second 3D object data to the second 2D projection data; provide a vector field defining motion of the second object relative to the first object between the acquisition times based on the registrations; generate corrected projection data using the vector field; and generate a motion-compensated image sequence based on the corrected projection data.
BIOPSY SYSTEMS FOR BREAST COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY
A device and methods for performing a simulated CT biopsy on a region of interest on a patient. The device comprises a gantry (22) configured to mount an x-ray emitter (24) and CT detector (26) on opposing sides of the gantry, a motor (28) rotatably coupled to the gantry such that the gantry rotates horizontally about the region of interest, and a rotation of source high resolution x-ray detector (172) positioned adjacent the CT detector in between the CT detector and and detector the x-ray emitter.
METHOD FOR DOSE REDUCTION IN AN X-RAY DEVICE TAKING ACCOUNT OF A LATER DISPLAY; IMAGING SYSTEM; COMPUTER PROGRAM; AND DATA CARRIER
The disclosure relates to a method for imaging by a medical X-ray device. In order to enable a reduction of an X-ray dose during imaging, the method includes: determining a viewing parameter of a viewer with reference to a future display of an image recorded by the X-ray device, determining a recording parameter set including an X-ray dose at least partially in dependence on the viewing parameter, and recording an image by the X-ray device using the recording parameter set.
Radiography system and method for operating radiography system
A composite image generation unit of a CPU of a console combines a camera image obtained by capturing an image of a subject located in an irradiation field using a camera and a positioning index image indicating a set position of the subject, which has been set in advance with respect to an in-image cassette position that is the position of the electronic cassette in the camera image, to generate a composite image. In a case in which the in-image cassette position is changed with the movement of the electronic cassette, the composite image generation unit changes a display position of the positioning index image with the change in the in-image cassette position.
System and Method for Reconstructing Image Volumes from Sparse Two-Dimensional Projection Data
A system and method for acquiring medical images of a subject includes performing two-dimensional (2D) scan of a subject using a medical imaging system to acquire 2D data from at least two view angles and generating a three-dimensional (3D) model of the subject from the 2D data. The method also includes extracting desired images of the subject from the 3D model. The desired images are at view angles different from the at least two view angles. The method further includes prescribing an imaging study of the subject using the desired images of the subject to control at least one of a signal-to-noise ratio of data acquired using the imaging study or a dose of ionizing radiation delivered to the subject during the imaging study. The method also includes performing the imaging study using the medical imaging system to acquire imaging data from the subject and reconstructing images of the subject from the imaging data.
GENERATING SYNTHESIZED PROJECTION IMAGES FOR 3D BREAST TOMOSYNTHESIS OR MULTI-MODE X-RAY BREAST IMAGING
Methods and systems for medical imaging including synthesizing virtual projections from acquired real projections and generating reconstruction models and images based on the synthesized virtual projections and acquired real projections. For example, first x-ray imaging data is generated from a detected first x-ray emission at a first angular location and second x-ray imaging data is generated from a detected second x-ray emission at a second angular location. Based on at least the first x-ray imaging data and the second x-ray imaging data, third x-ray imaging data for a third angular location relative to the breast may be synthesized. An image of the breast may be displayed or generated from the third x-ray imaging data.

A control unit of a radiation imaging apparatus performs control of moving a radiation source, and emitting radiation from the radiation source at a plurality of positions at which incidence angles of the radiation to a breast of a subject are different from each other. The control unit performs control of causing a radiation detector to detect the radiation emitted from the radiation source at the plurality of positions. The control unit performs control of moving the radiation source at a movement speed corresponding to a position of the radiation source for a subject face proximate position.
