Multi language editor

The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or method that facilitates creating a portion of an industrial process. An interface component can receive a first portion of data associated with a first programming language and a second portion of data associated with a second programming language, wherein the first programming language is independent and disparate of the second programming language. An editor component can create at least one of a portion of an industrial process or a portion of a mixed language object by enabling the combination of the first portion of data and the second portion of data independent of the respective programming languages.

The invention relates to a method of driving a workstation (1) comprising operational units (2, 3) linked to a drive automaton (7) executing a drive program, the drive program comprising for each operational unit at least one sub-part defining a plurality of strings of actions as a function of synchronization states, the drive method comprising a phase of configuration and a phase of execution of the drive program, the configuration phase comprising the steps of selecting the units to be implemented, of parametrizing the corresponding sub-parts by selecting the string of actions to be carried out and the associated synchronization states, the execution phase comprising the step of executing the drive program thus configured. The subject matter of the invention is also a workstation allowing the implementation of this method.

Collaboration tools

An industrial integrated development environment (IDE) supports collaborative tools that allow multiple designers and programmers to remotely submit design input to the same automation system project in parallel while maintaining project consistency. These collaborative features can include, for example, brokering between different sets of design input directed to the same portion of the system project, generating notifications to remote designers when a portion of the system project is modified, sharing of development interfaces or environments, facilitating involvement of outside technical support experts to assist with design issues, and other collaborative features.

Security services in a software defined control system

A software defined (SD) process control system (SDCS) includes a control container having contents which are executable during run-time of the process plant to control at least a portion of an industrial process. The SDCS also includes a security service associated with the control container and including contents which define one or more security conditions. The security service executes via a container on a compute node of the SDCS to control access to and/or data flow from the control container based on the contents of the security container.
