Also disclosed is a system comprising the hand-held probe and an instrumentation console. The handle includes a probe link that transmits a message containing gamma data relating to the low-level electrical signal. The instrumentation console may include a housing, a console link to receive the message transmitted by the probe link, a receiver electrically coupled to the console link to convert the message to corresponding electrical display signals, and a visually perceivable display electrically coupled to the receiver to convert the electrical display signals to a visually perceivable display relating to the amount of radiation detected.

TETHERED LAPAROSCOPIC PROBE

A tethered laparoscopic probe is provided, the tethered laparoscopic probe for deployment through a trocar into a cavity of a subject to detect gamma radiation from a radiopharmaceutical administered to the subject. The laparoscopic probe comprises a probe head shaped for insertion through the trocar and configured to be freely moveable within the cavity. The probe head comprises an elongate casing comprising radiation shielding for inhibiting gamma radiation from passing through the probe head, the radiation shielding having a detection aperture for admitting gamma radiation. The probe head further comprises a gamma radiation detector arranged within the casing, the gamma radiation detector configured to detect gamma radiation through the detection aperture of the casing. The probe head further comprises means for, in use, facilitating the localization of a source of radiation from the radiopharmaceutical within the cavity. The laparoscopic probe further comprises a tether coupled to the probe head and for, in use, tethering the probe head through the trocar.

Disclosed herein is an endoscope comprising: an insertion tube; a radiation detector configured to detect radiation particles in a first range of energy and radiation particles in a second range of energy.

Intraluminal anastomotic device and method

A surgical tool has an elongate tubular housing having an annular clamping region formed around an opening in the tubular housing. A vacuum source is operably engaged with the elongate tubular housing for providing a vacuum within the elongate tubular housing for drawing the damaged or diseased portion of a luminal body, such as an intestine, into the tubular housing. An elongate rod is provided having an annular clamping element shaped so that the intestine may be firmly clamped between the annular clamping element and the annular clamping region of the elongate tubular housing, so that the damaged or diseased portion of the intestine is entirely within the elongate tubular housing.

CATHETER APPARATUS AND BRACHYTHERAPY SYSTEM

A catheter apparatus (10) includes a tubular member (11); multiple fluid-flow pipe members (13), each having a proximal end (19) and a distal end (18), and being disposed along a first axial direction of the tubular member; multiple node members (15) disposed along a first axial direction of the tubular member, wherein two adjacent node members (15) form a segment (1a); and a periphery member (14), wherein the periphery member (14) wraps the multiple node members (15) to form a space (1b) with the segment (1a) formed between the two adjacent node members (15). The catheter apparatus (10) can irradiate the entire diffuse tumor during one brachytherapy process without repeated placement of the catheter. Meanwhile, it can be smoothly inserted into the patient's narrow body cavity because there are no external balloons. A brachytherapy system adopts the catheter apparatus (10).

A detection device for detecting radiation from a radiopharmaceutical administered to a subject includes a radiation sensor having a plurality of metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) components providing a pixel array, a semiconductor of the MOS components being configured for interaction charge carriers to be created in the depletion layer of the semiconductor in response to direct interaction with received charged particles emitted from the radiopharmaceutical. The detection device further comprises a light sealing covering arranged to prevent light from impinging on the pixel array. A laparoscopic probe, a handheld device and a specimen imaging chamber are also disclosed, and methods for operating the detection devices described herein.

INTRAORAL SENSOR AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING INTRAORAL SENSOR

An intraoral sensor includes an image sensor, an FOP, a scintillator, a case, and a signal cable. The FOP includes a first main surface, a second main surface, and a plurality of lateral surfaces. The first main surface and the second main surface have a polygonal shape. An edge of the second main surface is constituted by a plurality of corner portions, and a plurality of side portions. The scintillator is provided on the second main surface and the plurality of lateral surfaces in such a manner that a second corner portion out of the plurality of corner portions and a second ridge portion are exposed. The second corner portion located on a second direction side opposite to a first direction in which the signal cable extending beyond, and the second ridge portion constituted by the lateral surfaces adjacent to the second corner portion adjacent to each other.
