DEVICE FOR HOLDING X-RAY FILMS
20200285141 · 2020-09-10 · ·

A method for producing a holding apparatus for an x-ray film for teeth of a patient. The method includes performing an image registration of a first two-dimensional x-ray image of a tooth of an upper or lower jaw in a three-dimensional volume-tomographic data record of a jaw with a computer, determining a relative position of the first two-dimensional x-ray image within the three-dimensional volume-tomographic data record, preparing a virtual model for a holding apparatus that is attachable to the teeth of the upper or lower jaw in an interlocking fashion on the basis of the three-dimensional volume-tomographic data record, and producing the holding apparatus based on the virtual model. The holding apparatus includes a holding element which holds the x-ray film in a defined position. The defined position is established by the relative position of the first two-dimensional x-ray image in the three-dimensional volume-tomographic data record.

A dental radiographic positioner and film holder assembly has a film plane reference component (2) configured to detachably affix to a shaft (1a) extending from the edge of the film holder (1). Affixing surfaces (1b, 2b) are provided between the shaft (1a) and film plane (2) to enable longitudinal movement and restrict rotational movement. A teeth plane reference component (3) is detachably affixed to the shaft (1a). A bisecting angle reference component (4) is detachably affixed to the shaft (1a). Both the bisecting angle plane (4) and teeth plane (3) are attached to allow for longitudinal motion along the shaft (1a) as well as rotational motion around the axis of the shaft (1a).

INTRAORAL SENSOR AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING INTRAORAL SENSOR

An intraoral sensor includes an image sensor, an FOP, a scintillator, and a case. The FOP includes a first main surface, a second main surface, and a plurality of lateral surfaces. The first main surface and the second main surface have a polygonal shape. An edge of the second main surface is constituted by a plurality of corner portions, and a plurality of side portions connect the corner portions adjacent to each other. The scintillator is provided on the second main surface and the plurality of lateral surfaces in such a manner that the corner portions and the ridge portions constituted by the lateral surfaces adjacent to each other are exposed.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR INTRAORAL SCANNING

Systems and methods for producing aligners include an appointment management system that receives a request to schedule an appointment at an intraoral scanning site and schedules the appointment at the intraoral scanning site based on the request. A message is generated and caused to be transmitted to a device of the user and the message includes a confirmation confirming the scheduled appointment. An intraoral scan is conducted at the intraoral scanning site using an intraoral scanner. Aligners are sent to the user and are specific to the user for repositioning one or more teeth of the user in accordance with a treatment plan. The aligners are sent to the user without first providing the aligners to a dentist or an orthodontist such that the user receives orthodontic treatment without ever having physically seen a dentist or an orthodontist.

An intra-oral system comprising: an x-ray detector configured to detect extra-orally applied x-rays; and a saliva fluid sensing sub-system configured to sense saliva fluid within the oral cavity.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATING A PANORAMIC IMAGE
20200234404 · 2020-07-23 · ·

A method for generating a panoramic image of a patient includes obtaining a digital 3D surface representation of at least a part of the patient's teeth; using the obtained digital 3D surface representation to define a customized path following the arch form of the patient's teeth; obtaining a plurality of x-ray images of at least a part of one of the patient's jaws and/or teeth; and generating the panoramic image of the patient using the customized path.

UNIVERSAL ALIGNING ADAPTOR SYSTEM AND METHODS
20200222151 · 2020-07-16 ·

A system for dental implant restoration is provided. It includes universal aligning adaptors and prosthetic components having co-operable indices, which together form a translational, integrating system which aligns, synchronizes, and references the prosthetic components about an implant's central axis of rotation. Rotation of an adaptor about a prosthetic component, with its reference point becoming aligned to a predetermined reference point on the prosthetic component, followed by the rotation of the adaptor/prosthetic component assembly about the implant, situates the prosthetic component in a predetermined position such that all other prosthetic components become synchronized to the adaptor's reference point. The prosthetic component is mechanical for clinical or lab bench use, or is virtual for restoration design in a software program, prior to milling prosthetic abutments or devices. Abutments, healing caps and screw access holes are realigned to preferred positions and synchronized with minimal deviation from the ideal direction.

ORAL FIXATION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR RADIATION THERAPY OF LIP CANCER

Disclosed are an oral fixation device for radiation therapy and an oral fixation method in treatment of a lip cancer. The oral fixation device for radiation therapy includes a first spacer including a first insert inserted between a first lip portion and a first gum portion, and a teeth support coupled to the first spacer at a side of the first spacer disposed inwardly of an oral cavity, wherein teeth or a gum of a patient is supported on the teeth support, wherein a first spacer has a specific thickness to maintain a specific spacing between the first lip portion and the first gum portion, wherein the first lip portion includes a treatment target portion to be subjected to the radiation therapy.

Identification of areas of interest during intraoral scans

A processing device performs image registration between a plurality of intraoral images of a dental site. The processing device identifies a candidate intraoral area of interest from a first intraoral image of the plurality of intraoral images. The processing device verifies the candidate intraoral area of interest as an intraoral area of interest based on a comparison of a second intraoral image to the first intraoral image. The processing device displays a view of the dental site where the intraoral area of interest is hidden and an indication of the hidden intraoral area of interest is visible.
