Arrangements for intraoral scanning
Systems and methods include determining, by an appointment management system, a condition that an appointment to conduct an intraoral scan at an intraoral scanning site has been missed by a user, automatically generating a message to the user indicating that an at-home dental impression kit can be sent to the user based on determining that the appointment has been missed, and transmitting the automatically generated message to a communications device associated with the user.
Digital dental x-ray sensor device having a rounded housing
A digital dental x-ray sensor device includes a rounded, three dimensional housing that lacks corners, edges, or other relatively sharp features that are known to cause discomfort when used in a patient's mouth. The rounded housing can be spherical, ellipsoid, or any similar regular or irregular rounded shape, and can be formed by ensuring that all curves of the surface of the rounded housing have a minimum radius that is sufficient to prevent features that can dig into the soft tissue of the inside of a patient's mouth.
Medical X-ray photography apparatus for pseudo intraoral radiography with user interface with rectangular frame lines
A medical X-ray photography apparatus includes the turning arm and a moving mechanism. The turning arm supports an X-ray generator and an X-ray detector. The moving mechanism includes a turning part that turns the turning arm and a moving part that moves the turning arm along a two-dimensional plane orthogonal to an axial direction of a turning shaft. The medical X-ray photography apparatus also includes a photographic region assignment receiving part that receives an operation to assign a part of a dental arch as a pseudo intraoral radiography region, a main-body control part that controls the moving mechanism based on a movement starting signal to move the turning arm to a predetermined photography starting position corresponding to the pseudo intraoral radiography region, and a signal output switch that includes a movement starting signal output part outputting the movement starting signal to the main body control part.
Intraoral attachment clip for attachment of objects to edentulous ridges
The intraoral attachment clip for attaching objects to edentulous ridges has a flexible body configured as an elongated U-shaped strip that is designed to be conformed to an edentulous ridge. The clip has a lower or tissue surface adapted for contacting the mucosal surface of the ridge and an upper or oral surface facing the oral cavity. The tissue surface of the clip includes a plurality of micro-projections and an adhesive for securing the device to the underlying mucosal surface of the edentulous ridge. Tracking sensors and/or radiopaque fiducial markers can be attached to the oral surface of the clip for use with surgical navigation systems and imaging procedures. Sustained release drugs may be added to the tissue surface of the device for administering time-release medications through the mucosa over a prolonged period of time.
METHOD OF MAKING A CUSTOMIZED INTRAORAL POSITIONING DEVICE FOR USER RADIATION THERAPY TREATMENT
A method is disclosed of making a customized intraoral positioning device to be positioned within a patient's mouth for radiation therapy planning and treatment of a head and/or neck of the patient, the method comprising: receiving a prescribed treatment plan using the customized intraoral positioning device, wherein the treatment plan includes a prescribed incisor separation and/or tongue position of the patient for intended treatment; creating impressions of the patient's upper and lower arches of the patient's mouth; introducing a registration device into the patient's mouth to position the upper and lower arches at the prescribed incisor separation, so as to enable a model of the patient's upper and lower arches to be registered; creating models of the patients upper and lower arches based upon the impressions of the patient's upper and lower arches; digitizing the models of the patient's upper and lower arches; assembling the models of the patient's upper and lower arches on registration device; and digitizing the assembly of the models on the registration device so as to obtain a relationship between the upper and lower arches at the prescribed incisor separation.
BONE DENSITY MEASUREMENT DEVICE, BONE DENSITY MEASUREMENT SYSTEM, AND IMAGING ASSISTING TOOL
Provided are: a device (1) and a system (100) for quantitatively calculating bone density by using an X-ray image of a bone pail, in particular, an alveolar bone; and an imaging assisting tool (4) for accurately and easily performing X-ray imaging of an alveolar bone. This bone density measurement device (1) comprises: an image display unit (101) for displaying X-ray images for an imaged bone part and a reference body on the same screen; a reference body density measurement unit (103) for measuring the density of the displayed X-ray image for the reference body; a bone part density measurement unit (105) for measuring the density of the displayed X-ray image for the bone part; and a bone density calculation unit (106) for calculating the hone density of the bone part by comparing the density of the X-ray image for the bone part with the density of the X-ray image for the reference body.
CT imaging apparatus
The invention relates, in particular, to structures of a dental and medical cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) apparatus. The basic construction of the apparatus includes two elongated frame parts (11, 21) out of which the first frame part (11) is arranged to support X-ray imaging means (14, 15) and wherein the frame parts (11, 21) are mechanically connected to each other via an articulated construction (22) so as to allow for tilting of the first frame part (11) supporting the X-ray imaging means (14, 15) with respect to the second frame part (21). At the proximity of the second end of the first and second elongated frame parts (11, 21) is arranged a locking mechanism (24) configured to enable connecting together and disconnecting the first and second elongated frame parts (11, 21).
UNIVERSAL ALIGNING ADAPTOR SYSTEM AND METHODS
A system for dental implant restoration is provided. It includes universal aligning adaptors and prosthetic components having co-operable indices, which together form a translational, integrating system which aligns, synchronizes, and references the prosthetic components about an implant's central axis of rotation. Rotation of an adaptor about a prosthetic component, with its reference point becoming aligned to a predetermined reference point on the prosthetic component, followed by the rotation of the adaptor/prosthetic component assembly about the implant, situates the prosthetic component in a predetermined position such that all other prosthetic components become synchronized to the adaptor's reference point. The prosthetic component is mechanical for clinical or lab bench use, or is virtual for restoration design in a software program, prior to milling prosthetic abutments or devices. Abutments, healing caps and screw access holes are realigned to preferred positions and synchronized with minimal deviation from the ideal direction.
Tooth segmentation using tooth registration
A method for segmenting a 3D model image of a patient's dentition obtains a first 3D model image of the patient dentition and obtains a first segmentation of the first 3D model image, wherein the first segmentation provides at least a tooth surface contour and a tooth label for one or more teeth of the first 3D model. A second 3D model image of the patient dentition is obtained. Each segmented tooth surface contour of the first 3D model is registered to corresponding tooth surface contour of the second 3D model. A second segmentation of the second 3D model image is obtained according to the registered tooth surface contour, wherein the second segmentation similarly provides at least tooth surface contour and a tooth labeling for one or more teeth of the second 3D model image. The segmented second 3D model image is displayed, transmitted, or stored.
