Systems and methods for monitoring a power-generation module assembly after a power-generation module shutdown event
Embodiments are directed to providing a user interface (UI) that streamlines and simplifies the process of monitoring critical power-generation module (PGM) parameters after a PGM assembly is shutdown. The UI displays, in real-time, indicators corresponding to one or more post-shutdown PGM parameters. The UI provides indications of whether the post-shutdown PGM parameters meet post-shutdown criteria of the PGM assembly. When a post-shutdown PGM parameter does not meet the post-shutdown criteria, a user alert is provided to the user. A protocol may additionally be provided to the user. In some embodiments, the protocol may enable the user to return the PGM assembly to a condition that satisfies the post-shutdown criteria. The protocol may be a safety protocol and/or an asset protection protocol.
ACTIVE FOOTWEAR SENSOR CALIBRATION
A foot presence sensor system for an active article of footwear can include a sensor housing configured to be disposed at or in an insole of the article, and a controller circuit, disposed within the sensor housing, configured to trigger one or more automated functions of the footwear based on a foot presence indication. In an example, the sensor system includes a capacitive sensor, and the sensor is configured to sense changes in a foot proximity to the sensor in footwear. A baseline or reference condition for the capacitive sensor can be updated to accommodate different use conditions.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR THE INDUSTRIAL INTERNET OF THINGS
The system generally includes a crosspoint switch in the local data collection system having multiple inputs and multiple outputs including a first input connected to the first sensor and a second input connected to the second sensor. The multiple outputs include a first output and a second output configured to be switchable between a condition in which the first output is configured to switch between delivery of the first sensor signal and the second sensor signal and a condition in which there is simultaneous delivery of the first sensor signal from the first output and the second sensor signal from the second output. Each of multiple inputs is configured to be individually assigned to any of the multiple outputs. Unassigned outputs are configured to be switched off producing a high-impedance state. The local data collection system includes multiple data acquisition units each having an onboard card set configured to store calibration information and maintenance history of a data acquisition unit in which the onboard card set is located. The local data collection system is configured to manage data collection bands.
Prognostics driven decision making
Systems and methods include monitoring a health of at least one asset. A remaining useful life (RUL) of the at least one asset is estimated based on the monitoring. The RUL of the asset is categorized into categories comprising shorter than a time to complete a current mission and longer than the time to complete the current mission. One or more remedial actions are automatically performed during the current mission if the RUL is categorized as being less than the time to complete the current mission. The remedial actions comprise one or more of initiating a fail-safe mode, adapting a controller of the one or more assets, reconfiguration of the system, and adjusting the current mission of the one or more assets. Maintenance is scheduled for after the current mission of the at least one asset if the RUL is categorized as being greater than or equal to the time to complete the current mission.
SUPERVISED CONTROL LOGIC AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A controller for controlling operation of a heater transfer system is supervised by a supervisory control logic. Supervisory control logic monitors a state-of-health of system control logic, e.g., by monitoring an output from the system control logic that is indicative of its state-of-health. In a working embodiment, supervisory control logic monitors an output signal, e.g., a strobe signal, emitted by the system control logic. Response to a detected change in the control logic's health (e.g., a deterioration in performance), the supervisory control logic can issue a command or signal, or otherwise cause the system control logic to perform a selected one or more other operations selected from a plurality of operations.
Methods and systems for the industrial internet of things
The methods and systems for data collection, processing, and utilization of signals with a platform monitoring at least a first element in a first machine in an industrial environment generally include obtaining, automatically with a computing environment, at least a first sensor signal and a second sensor signal with a local data collection system that monitors at least the first machine and connecting a first input of a crosspoint switch of the local data collection system to a first sensor and a second input of the crosspoint switch to a second sensor in the local data collection system. The methods and systems also include switching between a condition in which a first output of the crosspoint switch alternates between delivery of at least the first sensor signal and the second sensor signal and a condition in which there is simultaneous delivery of the first sensor signal from the first output and the second sensor signal from a second output of the crosspoint switch and switching off unassigned outputs of the crosspoint switch into a high-impedance state. The local data collection system includes multiple data acquisition units each having an onboard card set that store calibration information and maintenance history of a data acquisition unit in which the onboard card set is located.
Remote control of fluid-handling devices
Provided is a process, including: receiving, via the network interface, from a remote user device, a command to change a state of the fluid-handling device to a target state; translating the received command into a translated command operative to cause a local controller of the fluid-handling device to drive the fluid-handling equipment to the target state, the local controller being responsive to the command and feedback from the fluid-handling device indicative of whether the fluid-handling device is in the target state; and sending the translated command to the local controller.
FOOT PRESENCE SENSING SYSTEMS FOR ACTIVE FOOTWEAR
A foot presence sensor system for an active article of footwear can include a sensor housing configured to be disposed at or in an insole of the article, and a controller circuit, disposed within the sensor housing, configured to trigger one or more automated functions of the footwear based on a foot presence indication. In an example, the sensor system includes a capacitive sensor configured to sense changes in a capacitance signal in response to proximity of a body. A dielectric member can be provided between the capacitive sensor and the body to enhance an output signal from the sensor.
Energy dissipative cushioning elements
An apparatus, method, computer program product, and/or system are described that determine an event, actuate a cushioning element in response to the determining the event, the cushioning element including one or more tension-bearing members, and dissipate at least some of an energy associated with a collision based on deforming at least one of the tension-bearing members during the collision, the deforming including substantially inelastically stretching the at least one of the tension-bearing members. Other example embodiments are also provided relating to actuatable cushioning elements.
