Provided is a maintenance operation assistance system comprising: a failure knowledge database wherein failure knowledge data is recorded; a failure knowledge coupling unit for reconstructing partial failure knowledge data into failure knowledge data; and an inspection procedure generation unit for presenting an inspection procedure using the reconstructed failure knowledge data. The failure knowledge coupling unit evaluates and adjusts the relatedness of nodes among different instances of partial failure knowledge data, and connects the different instances of partial failure knowledge data. On the basis of the reconstructed failure knowledge data, the inspection procedure generation unit sets priorities for when presenting the inspection procedure, and presents the inspection procedure to a diagnostic interface unit in accordance with the priorities.

Health assessment of a mechanical system

A method is provided for assessing health of a mechanical system. The method includes receiving discontinuous system data that is obtained intermittently and is associated with health of the system and generating a discontinuous health index that is based on the discontinuous system data and receiving continuous system data that is obtained continuously and is associated with the health of the system and generating a continuous health index that is based on the continuous system data, wherein the discontinuous health index and the continuous health index are configured to be combinable. The method further includes combining the discontinuous health index and the continuous health index, generating an overall health index based on the combination of the discontinuous health index and the continuous health index, and automatically taking one or more actions to maintain or improve health of the mechanical system and/or avoid risk based on the overall health index.

Industrial equipment installation

A system and method for monitoring operating conditions of an industrial installation system including a plurality of pieces of equipment. Each of the pieces of equipment includes a sensor and an electrically identifiable tag configured to identify the equipment. The sensors of each of the plurality of pieces of equipment provide an operating characteristic of the piece of equipment that is provided to an industrial equipment management system. The system is also configured to store the content of the electrically identifiable tag and to store a location identifier of each of plurality of pieces of equipment. Replacement of the identified defective equipment is made with replacement equipment having an identifier that uniquely identifies the replacement device and the location of the replacement device in the industrial installation system.

A machine part number of an industrial machine is scanned when the machine enters a facility for maintenance. The scanned number is associated with components that comprise the machine and with characteristics of the components or machine. Based upon the characteristics of the machine or components, a customized maintenance route is produced for the machine through the facility. The customized maintenance route specifies a sequence of maintenance actions and timing of these actions for the machine that are adjusted in real-time as the characteristics change.

Managing firmware and software updates within a secure deployment system

A method may include receiving, via a secure deployment management (SDM) system, a notification indicative of a change in configuration data associated with an industrial device from a secure deployment management (SDM) node associated with the industrial device. The notification is received via a secure communication channel established by the SDM system with the SDM node and one or more security protocols. The method also includes retrieving, via the SDM system, the configuration data associated with the industrial device from a data source in response to receiving the notification and sending, via the SDM system, the configuration data to the SDM node via the secure communication channel. The industrial device may receive the configuration data from the SDM node without performing one or more security operations on the configuration data.

Coordinating maintenance management operations via a secure deployment system

A method may include receiving, via a secure deployment management (SDM) system, data associated with one or more operations of an industrial device from a secure deployment management (SDM) node associated with the industrial device. The data is received via a secure communication channel established by the SDM system with the SDM node and security protocols. The method also includes sending the data to a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) container component may perform tasks in conjunction with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) process, such that the CMMS container component may communicate with the CMMS process via a first firewall through which the SDM system is incapable of communicating. The SDM system may enable the data associated with the operations to communicate with the SDM node through a second firewall between the SDM system and the SDM node, the second firewall being different from the first firewall.

Implementing device modifications based on machine learning processes performed within a secure deployment system

A method may include receiving, via a secure deployment management (SDM) system, data associated with operations of an industrial device from a SDM node associated with the industrial device. The data is received via a secure communication channel established by the SDM system with the SDM node and security protocols. The SDM node is communicatively coupled with a machine learning system for sending and receiving data. The machine learning system may generate an updated machine learning model based on the data and a machine learning model representative of expected outputs associated with the operations of the industrial device and generate updated configuration data based on the updated machine learning model. The method may then include receiving the updated configuration data from the SDM node via the secure communication channel and sending the updated configuration data to the industrial device without performing security operations on the updated configuration data.
