AUTOMATED APPARATUS TO IMPROVE IMAGE QUALITY IN X-RAY AND ASSOCIATED METHOD OF USE
A system or method for improving quality in projection and tomographic x-ray, which includes a depth sensing device to measure a depth of at least one body part of a patient from the depth sensing device and a control unit to calculate a thickness and/or circumference of the body part using the depth information. The calculated thickness and circumference information is used to determine an optimal level of x-ray exposure for the body part. The system or method also includes a camera to identify the body part that needs to be examined and to detect any motion of the identified body part.
MAMMOGRAPHY APPARATUS, CONTROL DEVICE, MAMMOGRAPHY APPARATUS CONTROL METHOD, AND MAMMOGRAPHY APPARATUS CONTROL PROGRAM
A mammography apparatus includes: a moving unit that moves a compression plate in a compression direction in which the breast is compressed and a decompression direction in which the breast is decompressed; a radiation source; a pressure sensor that is used to measure a compression pressure which is a compression force of the compression plate per unit area; and a control unit that controls the moving unit such that the compression plate is moved to a first position where the compression pressure measured by the pressure sensor is a first compression pressure in the compression direction and is moved to a second position where the compression pressure measured by the pressure sensor is a second compression pressure in the decompression direction and performs control such that radiation is emitted from the radiation source in a state in which the compression plate is located at the second position.
Radiation image detecting device
A sensor panel of an electronic cassette includes detection pixels each for outputting a dose signal corresponding to a dose of X-rays, an irradiation start judging section for judging whether or not X-ray irradiation has been started based on the dose signal, and an AEC section for judging whether or not an accumulated dose of X-rays has reached a target dose based on the dose signal. A gain setting section sets a gain of an integration amplifier in the case of using the irradiation start judging section lower than that in the case of using the AEC section.
Using detectability index to determine X-ray tube current
A computed tomography (CT) image apparatus includes an X-ray source to emit X-rays; and processing circuitry configured to receive a desired detectability index set by a user, the desired detectability index determining for a desired image quality of a CT scan of an object; determine an X-ray tube current that will result in the desired detectability index set by the user; and cause the X-ray source to perform a scan of the object using the determined tube current.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING MOTION OF DETECTORS HAVING MOVING DETECTOR HEADS
An imaging system is provided that includes a gantry, at least five detector units mounted to the gantry, a corresponding collimator for each of the detector units, at least one processing unit, and a controller. Each collimator has septa defining plural bores for each pixel of at least some of a plurality of pixels of the detector unit. A corresponding interior septum of the collimator is disposed above an internal portion of a corresponding pixel of the at least some of the plurality of pixels. The at least one processing unit is configured to obtain object information corresponding to the object to be imaged. The controller is configured to control an independent rotational movement of each the detector units used to acquire scanning information by detecting emissions from the object, wherein the controller rotates each of the detector units at a corresponding sweep rate.
POSITIONING OF AN EXAMINATION OBJECT FOR AN IMAGING METHOD
A method is described for positioning of an examination object for an imaging method. The method is used to record an external image of externally visible features of the examination object. The recording of the external image is used as the basis for determining a position and/or orientation of at least one part of the examination object assigned to the imaged features. Subsequently, a check is performed as to whether the determined position and/or orientation of the at least one part of the examination object conforms to a reference position and/or reference orientation. Finally, if the determined position and/or orientation of the at least one part of the examination object does not conform to the reference position and/or reference orientation, the position and/or orientation of the at least one part of the examination object is corrected. Also described is an object-positioning facility. Furthermore, an imaging medical facility is described.
TECHNIQUES FOR PATIENT POSITIONING QUALITY ASSURANCE PRIOR TO MAMMOGRAPHIC IMAGE ACQUISITION
Techniques for patient positioning quality assurance prior to mammographic image acquisition are described. A system may include an x-ray source configured to expose human tissue to radiation. An x-ray detector module may be configured to detect the radiation and generate a pre-diagnostic image of the human tissue. A position analysis module may be configured to receive the pre-diagnostic image and determine whether the human tissue is positioned correctly based upon one or more predefined positioning criteria. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium may be configured to store the results of the positional analysis module determination. A display may be configured to display the determination of the position analysis module within a user interface. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
RADIOGRAPHIC CONTROL APPARATUS, RADIOGRAPHIC SYSTEM, RADIOGRAPHIC CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A radiographic control apparatus includes an obtaining unit configured to obtain position information about a transmission unit configured to transmit a radio wave based on a radio field intensity of the transmission unit and position information about a reception unit configured to receive the radio wave, the transmission unit being disposed on a radiographic apparatus configured to generate a radiographic image of a subject based on radiation emitted from a radiation generation apparatus, and a correction unit configured to correct the position information about the transmission unit using depth information about an area to which the radiographic apparatus belongs in an optical image captured by an imaging apparatus, the depth information being obtained from the optical image.
Apparatus for digital imaging in the head region of a patient
An apparatus for Digital Imaging in the Head Region of a Patient includes an X-ray source and an X-ray sensor, supported on i a rotary arm supported on a structure by a motor driven translation and rotation means. The rotary arm is provided with adjustment means for varying the distance between the source and the sensor. The apparatus comprises a single sensor for both panoramic imaging and computed tomography, and has a control unit, that controls the source, the sensor, the adjustment means, and the translation and rotation means and operates the apparatus in a basic operation mode for bigger patients and in an alternative operation mode for smaller patients, in which the distance between the source and the sensor is reduced as compared to the distance used for the basic operation mode.
Radiographic imaging system, radiographic imaging method and non-transitory recording medium
An estimated exposure dose calculator calculates an estimated exposure dose, which is an estimate of an exposure dose of a subject by irradiation of radiation, on the basis of the image capturing conditions after the image capturing conditions are set and prior to the radiation imaging. An exposure dose output unit outputs the calculated estimated exposure dose to the outside.
