Ultrasound diagnostic apparatus, ultrasound diagnostic method and ultrasound probe
An ultrasound diagnostic apparatus includes a hardware processor that generates a first B mode image and a second B mode image on the basis of a first reception signal and a second reception signal whose beam width in the slice direction is narrower than the first reception signal, displays a display image on a display section, determines whether the end of the puncture needle in the display image is the actual needle point, and presents the determination result. The hardware processor presents the determination result on the basis of the first puncture needle image included in the first B mode image and the second puncture needle image included in the second B mode image.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GUIDING SURGICAL PROCEDURES
Methods for guiding a surgical procedure include accessing information relating to a surgical procedure, accessing at least one image of a surgical site captured by an endoscope during the surgical procedure, identifying a tool captured in the at least one image by a machine learning system, determining whether the tool should be changed based on comparing the information relating to the surgical procedure and the tool identified by the machine learning system, and providing an indication when the determining indicates that the tool should be changed.
Method and system of providing visual information about a location and shape of a tumour under a body surface of a human or animal body
In a method and system for providing visual information about a tumour location in human or animal body, an electromagnetic tumour sensor is provided in the tumour and tracked to determine its location in space, which is mapped to a tumour model. A surgical tool sensor is provided on a surgical tool, and tracked to determine its location in space, which is mapped to a surgical tool model. The body is scanned to obtain information about an anatomical structure. A reference sensor is provided on the body, and tracked to determine its location in space, which is mapped to the anatomical structure. A virtual image is displayed showing the tumour model, located with the at least one tumour sensor, in spatial relationship to the surgical tool model, located with the at least one surgical tool sensor, and the anatomical structure, located with the at least one reference sensor.
Ultrasound imaging system and method for detecting position and orientation of a coherent reflector
A method and ultrasound imaging system for detecting a coherent reflector includes acquiring ultrasound channel data from a volume with a probe, calculating a transform function from the ultrasound channel data, identifying a first angle of a projection of the coherent reflector in a plane parallel to the 2D aperture based on the transform function, detecting a line-shaped echo pattern in the ultrasound channel data, and determining a second angle of the coherent reflector with respect to the 2D aperture based on the position of the line-shaped echo pattern. The method and system includes determining a position and orientation of the coherent reflector based on the first angle and the second angle, enhancing a representation of the coherent reflector in an image generated based on the ultrasound channel data, and displaying the image on a display device after enhancing the representation of the coherent reflector.
Treatment of epithelial cysts by intracystic injection of antineoplastic particles
Disclosed herein are methods for treating epithelial cysts, including pancreatic cysts, in a subject by intracystic injection of compositions comprising antineoplastic particles, including taxane particles such as paclitaxel particles and docetaxel particles.
Medical image processing device, endoscope system, medical image processing method, and program
There are provided a medical image processing device, an endoscope system, a medical image processing method, and a program which detect an optimal lesion region according to an in-vivo position of a captured image. Images at a plurality of in-vivo positions of a subject are acquired from medical equipment that sequentially captures and displays in real time the images; positional information indicating the in-vivo position of the acquired image is acquired; from among a plurality of region-of-interest detection units that detect a region of interest from an input image and correspond to the plurality of in-vivo positions, respectively, a region-of-interest detection unit corresponding to the position indicated by the positional information is selected; and the selected region-of-interest detection unit detects a region of interest from the acquired image.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR ACCESSING THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM
Systems and methods are provided for performing a medical procedure within a patient's body that involves a thoracic duct including an ostium communicating with the patient's venous system. A distal end of a catheter is introduced through the patient's venous system into a body lumen adjacent the ostium of the thoracic duct. An expandable member on the distal end of the tubular member may be expanded adjacent the ostium, e.g., within the body lumen or the thoracic duct itself, and used to isolate the thoracic duct from the body lumen, whereupon a medical procedure may be performed via the thoracic duct. For example, lymphatic fluid may be removed from the thoracic duct through a lumen of the tubular member and/or one or more agents may be introduced into the thoracic duct through the tubular member.
Photoacoustic image generation apparatus and operation method of photoacoustic image generation apparatus
In a photoacoustic image generation apparatus and an operation method of the photoacoustic image generation apparatus, all positions of an insert during puncture can be accurately grasped on an image after an examination. A photoacoustic image generation apparatus includes a photoacoustic image generation unit that generates a photoacoustic image based on a detection signal acquired by detecting a photoacoustic wave emitted from a tip portion of an insert inserted into a subject using acoustic wave detection means, and a control unit that causes a storage unit to store position information of the tip portion of a puncture needle on the photoacoustic image in response to a predetermined trigger during a step of collecting a cell of the subject at the tip portion of the puncture needle in cytology.
Puncture needle
A hollow puncture needle includes: a needle body portion; a needle distal end portion that extends from the needle body portion in a distal direction and that includes a blade surface that is inclined with respect to an axis of the puncture needle; and an ultrasonic wave reflecting structure including at least one reflecting portion having a concave or hole shape that opens on an inner peripheral surface of the needle distal end portion. An inner surface of the reflecting portion includes a pair of inclined surfaces that face each other, wherein a distance between the inclined surfaces becomes smaller in a direction towards an outer peripheral surface side of the needle distal end portion. The inclined surfaces is parallel to the axis of the puncture needle.
Method and system for providing rotation previews for three-dimensional and four-dimensional ultrasound images
A system and method for presenting rotation previews of an object depicted in a volume rendering of 3D and/or 4D image data is provided. The method includes presenting a volume rendering of an object having an initial view at a display system. The method includes presenting volume rendering previews at the display system. Each of the volume rendering previews provides a different rotational view of the object and is located on the display system in relation to the volume rendering at a position associated with a directional directive of a user input device. The method includes receiving a directional directive from the user input device. The method includes presenting an updated volume rendering of the object at the display system. The updated volume rendering includes an updated view of the object rotated from the initial view based on the directional directive from the user input device.
