PATIENT-SPECIFIC NEUROMODULATION ALIGNMENT STRUCTURES
The present discussion relates to structures and devices to facilitate application of an ultrasound therapy beam to a target anatomic region in a replicable manner. In certain aspects, adjustable positioning structures are described that allow a general probe positioning structure to be configured for a specific patient in a manner that allows the device to be used repeatedly to target the anatomic region, even when in non-clinical settings. In other aspects, a probe positioning structure is fabricated that is specific to a respective patient anatomy, such that use of the probe positioning structure provides repeatable targeting of the target anatomic region, even when in non-clinical settings.
System and methods for treating cancer cells with alternating polarity magnetic fields
Systems and method for destroying or inhibiting cancer cells and other rapidly-dividing cells include applying AP magnetic fields having a defined frequency of 5 Hz-500 kHz and a field strength of 0.1-5000 μT to a target body area that includes the cancer or other rapidly-dividing cells, and modifying the cancer or tumor microenvironment to increase the presence of cancer-suppressive cells or decrease the presence of cancer-promoting cells. In various embodiments, the systems and methods may include adjusting the therapy based on the dosage of an immunotherapy drug administered to the patient before, during, or after the application of the AP magnetic fields.
Rapid pulse confirmation device
A wearable rapid pulse confirmation (RPC) device is designed to be worn by a living subject, and includes a Doppler array comprising at least one piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer, configured to detect a change in blood velocity in a blood vessel; a screen; a loud speaker; and a band or adhesive configured to hold the wearable RPC device in proximity to a body surface of the living subject. The Doppler array is configured to detect a change in blood velocity, pulse rate, pulse strength, or a combination thereof in a blood vessel; and to provide feedback through the screen and the loudspeaker. The Doppler array may include multiple types of piezoelectric ultrasonic transducers, including low frequency piezoelectric ultrasonic transducers having a working frequency ranging from 2 MHz to <6 MHz; medium frequency piezoelectric ultrasonic transducers having a working frequency of 6 MHz to 10 MHz; and high frequency piezoelectric ultrasonic transducers having a working frequency of 10 MHz to 18 MHz.
PORTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE
This disclosure relates to a portable medical device comprising:
a medical equipment for the acquisition of data and a carrier system, wherein the medical equipment comprises:
a processing unit configured to process the data acquired using a probe linked to a processing unit,
and wherein the carrier system is configured to equip the body of the user of the device with the medical equipment.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE AND VERSATILE MOLECULAR IMAGING
Improved imaging devices and methods. A portable SPECT imaging device may co-register with imaging modalities such as ultrasound. Gamma camera panels including gamma camera sensors may be connected to a mechanical arm. A coded aperture mask may be placed in front of a gamma-ray photon sensor and used to construct a high-resolution three-dimensional map of radioisotope distributions inside a patient, which can be generated by scanning the patient from a reduced range of directions around the patient and with radiation sensors placed in close proximity to this patient. Increased imaging sensitivity and resolution is provided. The SPECT imaging device can be used to guide medical interventions, such as biopsies and ablation therapies, and can also be used to guide surgeries.
Mounting device for reversibly mounting an electromagnetic field generator on an ultrasonic probe
A mounting device for reversibly mounting at least one electromagnetic field generator on an ultrasonic probe for orientating the electromagnetic field generator with respect to the ultrasonic probe in at least one mounting position is disclosed. The mounting device comprises at least one first fastening structure. The mounting device is connectable to the electromagnetic field generator via the first fastening structure.
Non-invasive determination of muscle tissue size
Provided is a non-invasive system and method of determining muscle tissue size based on image processing. The method includes receiving at least one ultrasound scan image of at least a portion of a skin layer as disposed above one or more additional tissue layers, the image provided by a plurality of pixels. The method continues by introducing noise into the pixels of the image and thresholding the pixels of the image to provide a binary image having a plurality of structural elements of different sizes. The method continues with morphing the structural elements of the binary image to remove small structural elements and connect large structural elements. With this resulting image, the method distinguishes muscle tissue from remaining elements and determines the muscle tissue size. Associated apparatuses and computer program products are also disclosed.
Portable Alzheimer detector
A device is provided for diagnostic measurement by simultaneous multimodal analysis of a subject's head wherein the cerebral blood flow variations as well as the concentration level of oxygenation in the subject's blood are used to determine the presence and the pathophysiology of neurocognitive disorders, including the neurodegenerative disease referred to as Alzheimer's disease.
DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASOUND MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A distributed patient monitoring system comprises at least one standalone portable ultrasound imaging unit configured to be fixed to a stable position against the skin on a patient's body and capable of prolonged ultrasound data acquisition, including an ultrasound imaging array, transmit-receive circuitry, a beamformer, backend signal and image processing subsystem, power and communication subsystems, and a monitoring workstation connected to each standalone portable ultrasound imaging unit configured to request and receive ultrasound imaging information from each standalone portable ultrasound imaging unit, and configured to analyze and display acquired ultrasound information.
Methods and apparatuses for estimating bladder status
The present invention relates to methods and apparatuses for estimating the status of a bladder, especially with respect to the likelihood of an imminent voiding of the bladder. The apparatuses carry out computer-implemented methods of estimating a bladder status employing a bladder monitor which collects bladder data (e.g. using ultrasound) and transmits the bladder data to a data processor for algorithmic conversion to a bladder status. Such algorithms may be trained and tuned to a particular person's bladder. Having established a bladder status based on otherwise esoteric bladder data, the data processor may then trigger an alert signal where the bladder status meets particular criteria indicating an imminent voiding event. Such a trigger signal may be used to alert a nocturnal enuresis patient to an impending void so that they can be awoken before any bedwetting occurs.
