Fetal ultrasound monitoring method and system

A method of fetal ultrasound monitoring includes detecting contact of a first ultrasound transducer to a mother's abdomen based on input from a contact sensor in the first ultrasound transducer. A first transducer ID is received from the first ultrasound transducer, and then the first transducer ID is correlated with a first transducer label. A first heart rate is measured based on output of an ultrasound device in the first ultrasound transducer, and a heart rate indicator is displayed accordingly. A position of the first ultrasound transducer is identified in a two-dimensional plane, and the first transducer label is displayed on an abdomen image based on the first position.

A system with at least one inflatable member configured for being arranged in a part of the patient's respiratory tract includes a catheter carrying the at least one inflatable member. The catheter includes a fluid line for filling the inflatable member with a fluid; and a pressure monitoring and control member to be arranged outside the patient's body. The pressure monitoring member is in fluid communication with the inflatable member and is configured to receive, during operation, fluid from the inflatable member when the pressure increases above a predetermined threshold pressure and to return the received fluid when the pressure decreases below said predetermined threshold pressure. The pressure monitoring and control member is an elastically expandable balloon made from a material configured to expand elastically when the pressure in the balloon increases above a predetermined threshold pressure and to contract when the pressure decreases below said predetermined threshold pressure.

An image processing apparatus according to the present invention includes: a bath an inside of which is filled with a propagation liquid and in which a test object is to be immersed; a measurement device having a group of elements that irradiates the inside of the bath with a radiation wave and receives the radiation wave, which is a scattered wave; an upper drainage detection sensor that detects draining of the propagation liquid from a top portion of the bath to outside the bath; and a liquid level control module that controls a liquid level of the propagation liquid in the inside of the bath, and the liquid level control module controls, before the test object immersed in the inside of the bath, an amount of the propagation liquid in the inside of the bath such that the liquid level becomes lower than a top end position of the bath, and performs control, after the test object is immersed in the inside of the bath, such that the propagation liquid is supplied into the inside the bath at least until the upper drainage detection sensor detects draining of the propagation liquid. As a result, in an image processing apparatus that is of an automatic scanning type and has a simple configuration, it is possible to thoroughly image a test object.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD TO COMPOUND SIGNALS OF RESPECTIVE RECEIVED ULTRASONIC FREQUENCIES TO GENERATE AN OUTPUT ULTRASONIC IMAGE

An apparatus, a method, and computer-implemented media. The apparatus is to receive, simultaneously, electrical signals based on respective reflected frequencies of a reflected ultrasonic waveform reflected from a target object as a result of a transmitted ultrasonic waveform; compound information from the electrical signals to generate compounded electrical signals; and cause generation of an output image on a display based on the compounded electrical signals.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for preclinical ultrasound imaging of subjects

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for preclinical ultrasound imaging of subjects are provided. In one aspect, the apparatus can include a platform on which a subject is positionable and at least one motion stage for controlling a spatial position of at least one ultrasound transducer relative to the platform in order to acquire ultrasound image data of the subject. Methods for preclinical ultrasound raster scanning of at least one organ or tissue in a subject are also provided, where the at least one organ or tissue is a heart.

Ultrasonic method and apparatus for respiration monitoring

A method of non-invasively monitoring the respiration of a patient comprises: transmitting ultrasound into the body toward an internal structure of the patient's body, the internal structure being one of the liver, the spleen or a kidney; selecting a depth range; measuring the phase of ultrasound echo signals from the internal structure at multiple points along the depth range for at least a first and a second echo signal, the first and second echo signals being received at different times; detecting the motion of the internal structure within the patient's abdomen by reference to differences in the measured phase between the first and the second echo signals; and thereby monitoring the respiration of the patient by associating movement of the internal structure with movement caused by respiration.

Flexible variable frequency ultrasonic therapeutic probe based on thermoacoustic effect of carbon nanotube film

A flexible variable frequency ultrasonic therapeutic probe based on thermoacoustic effect of a carbon nanotube film comprises an ultrasonic sound production element, and a heat dissipation layer and an acoustic matching layer located on both sides thereof. The sound production element comprises a carbon nanotube film, metal electrodes and wires, and the shape and size of the sound production element can be adjusted according to the actual functional requirements. When a signal is accessed into the sound production element, the carbon nanotube film produces a corresponding temperature change, which causes the surrounding media to expand and contract and to excite ultrasonic waves. The present invention greatly improves the coupling efficiency between the probe and the subject, reduces the energy loss of ultrasonic waves, and enhances the uniformity of the sound intensity distribution in the affected part.
