System and method for generating device work orders based on work patterns and plant location
A device management system includes a storage unit which stores, in advance and in correlation with device identification information set in each steam controller, location information indicating a location of each steam controller. The storage unit further stores in advance work patterns for the steam controller according to a classification based on a device type and an installation state of the steam controller. The system further includes a data extraction unit configured to extract from the storage unit the location information from the device identification information based on detection information. The data extraction unit is further configured to extract a corresponding work pattern from the device type and the installation state specified from the device identification information. A work information generation unit is included for generating work information including the extracted location information and work pattern for each work-target device.
Intelligent key system
Techniques for using wireless electronic keys with devices are disclosed. For example, a computer system can program an access code into a programmable wireless electronic key. An action or function of the device can then be made contingent on there being a match between the access code from the key and an access code known by the device. Further still, other operational control parameters (such as time limits) can be programmed into the key to restrict the ability of the key to control an action or function of the device. Also, audit data such as device access history can be wirelessly transferred from a device to an electronic key, whereupon the key can later transfer this audit data to a computer for analysis.

Proactive transmission of measured values to mobile devices
A mobile display device that selects a particular field device from a group of field devices and retrieves measurement data therefrom. The field device is selected by evaluating environment data which are captured by the display device without user input simplifying the measurement data display.
Method and system for commissioning process control hardware
Techniques for commissioning a process control device in a process plant include obtaining, at a portable computing device, commissioning data for commissioning the respective process control device for operation, such as a device tag. The portable computing device then transfers the commissioning data to a component in the same process control loop as the process control device via a wireless communication link. For example, the component includes a radio-frequency identification (RFID) or near field communication (NFC) unit for receiving RFID/NFC signals. When the portable computing device is within RFID/NFC communication range of the component, the commissioning data is transferred via an RFID/NFC signal to the component. The commissioning data is received while the component is in an unpowered state, where the RFID/NFC signal energizes the RFID/NFC unit at the component for receiving the signal.
Handheld field maintenance tool with simulation of field device for instruction or qualification
A handheld field maintenance tool includes a training mode. The handheld field maintenance tool has a process communication module operably coupleable to a field device, a user interface, and a controller coupled to the process communication module and the user interface. The controller is configured to interact with a user through the user interface, and is configured to provide a simulation function where at least one characteristic of the field device, indicated through the user interface, is generated by the controller instead of the field device.
Intelligent key system
Techniques for using wireless electronic keys with electronic locks are disclosed. For example, a computer system can program an access code into a programmable wireless electronic key, and the programmable electronic key can then teach this access code to a programmable electronic lock via wireless communication to thereby program the programmable electronic lock. Unlocking action by the programmed lock can then be made contingent on there being a match between the access code from the key and the access code from the programmed lock. Further still, other operational control parameters (such as time limits) can be programmed into the key to restrict the ability of the key to unlock a lock. Also, audit data such as lock access history can be wirelessly transferred from an electronic lock to an electronic key, whereupon the key can later transfer this audit data to a computer for analysis.
Inspection work support device, inspection work support system, and inspection work support method
An inspection work support device that supports inspection work performed in a plant, includes: a storage that stores an apparatus ledger in which apparatus information of an apparatus installed in the plant is registered, and an inspection list which indicates a list of inspection targets; an indicator that indicates the inspection target to be inspected based on the inspection list; an acquisition part that acquires apparatus specification information which is required for specifying the apparatus; a search part that searches the apparatus ledger based on the apparatus specification information acquired by the acquisition part to obtain the apparatus information; and a display that displays the inspection target indicated by the indicator and the apparatus information obtained by the search part.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATICALLY GENERATING INTERACTIVE WIRING DIAGRAM IN AN INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION ENVIRONMENT
A method and system for automatically generating interactive wiring diagram in an industrial automation environment are disclosed. The method includes acquiring real-time data associated with devices commissioned in a plant from one or more sensing units disposed at the respective devices. The method also includes determining connections between the devices in the plant based on the acquired real-time data using a lookup table. The method includes generating a wiring diagram of the plant based on the determined connections between the devices. The wiring diagram represents the devices located in the plant and physical connections between the devices. The method includes dynamically generating interactive wiring diagrams by superimposing the wiring diagram with the device connectivity status information associated with respective connections between the devices.
