Methods and apparatus to provide a role-based user interface
Methods and apparatus to provide a role-based user interface are disclosed herein. An example system disclosed includes a display device to depict a user interface. The example system also includes a processor. The example processor is to receive object information for an object in a process control system during a session, determine a user role based on the session, determine whether the object information is qualifying information based on the user role, and display the object information via the user interface when the object information is qualifying information.
SCADA OPERATOR DECISION SUPPORT USING INTEGRATED ENGINEERING AND OPERATIONAL DATA SERVER SYSTEM AND METHOD
Embodiments of the invention include a system and method capable of generating an operations management interface enabling monitoring of distributed components of a process control application. The operations management interface can include a customizable display enabling operators to prepare decisions based on a context-based three-dimensional representation of the distributed components. The operations management interface display includes controls for manipulating graphically displayed representations of data rendered by the distributed components, and an interface for exchanging requests and data through data links to one or more distributed data-linked components. Some selectable displayed information in the operations management interface window can include locations, interconnection layout and hierarchy, and specifications, and datasheets of distributed components.
Graphical interface for configuration of industrial automation systems
Exemplified herein is a graphical user interface for an industrial automation system that provides, in a single aggregated and eloquent view, a configuration workspace to discover and present configuration details of control components within an industrial automation system. These components may include industrial controllers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, programmable automation controllers (PACs), and the like, which have modules (as well as submodules) connected thereto. Among other things, the configuration workspace enables a holistic view of identified hardware configuration and the modular reconciliation and troubleshoot of the network device and module configurations.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND PROGRAM
There is provided an information processing device to enable a user to intuitively perform an operation of setting a linked operation of hardware elements or software elements, the information processing device including: a display control unit configured to cause a plurality of icons indicating hardware elements or software elements that perform a linked operation together, and a link connecting the plurality of icons to each other to be displayed. A spatial sequence of the plurality of icons formed by the link corresponds to a temporal sequence of operations of the software elements or the hardware elements indicated by the plurality of icons.
Configurable safety logic solver
A control system may include a display device and a processor that receives one or more inputs from the display device. The processor may generate a cause and effect visualization to be depicted on the display device, such that the cause and effect visualization represents a cause and effect logic configured to control one or more operations of a first set of industrial devices based one or monitored conditions. The processor may receive the inputs via the display device, such that the inputs include one or more configuration settings associated with the operations of the first set of industrial devices, the monitored conditions, or any combination thereof. The processor may then control the one or more operations of the first set of industrial devices based on the cause and effect logic and the inputs.
Computer-implemented method for configuring electronic relays in an electric power distribution grid
A method for configuring one or more electronic relays in an electric power distribution grid, said electronic relays being operatively associated to corresponding switching devices of said electric power distribution grid, wherein it includes the following: providing a graphic user interface on a computer display, the graphic user interface including graphic resources activatable by a user; providing first graphic resources on said graphic user interface to select a configuration graphic template, the configuration graphic template representing a corresponding control logic model for configuring the electronic relays, the control logic model including one or more logic elements configurable by means of corresponding sets of configuration values; providing second graphic resources to configure one or more configurable logic elements of a control logic model represented by the selected configuration graphic template; providing third graphic resources on the graphic user interface to associate one or more configured logic elements to a corresponding electronic relay; checking whether the electronic relays meet predefined operating conditions; if the operating conditions are met by the electronic relays, transmitting configuration information including the configuration values to the electronic relays.
Industrial automation network evaluation system and method
Automation and network components of an industrial automation network are discovered and evaluated using a configured tool that can access the components and determine their interconnection and configuration. The equipment on the network may include automation and monitoring devices, such as controllers, drives, switchgear, and so forth, as well as network components such as servers, routers, industrial managed switches, and so forth. The configuration may be graphically mapped for an operator, and known issues or deficiencies in the detected configuration may be used to evaluate potential problems that can be addressed. The access and evaluation can be done during real-time operation of the system without perturbing its normal automation functions.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MODULE ENGINEERING WITH SEQUENCE LIBRARIES
Method and system for engineering with sequence libraries are provided. A first set of engineering data is defined for a first engineering project to generate a first sequence library for the first engineering project, independently of one or more lower level engineering projects for configuring one or more field control systems. The sequence library assignment process is to assign the first sequence library to the one or more lower level engineering projects simultaneously to generate one or more first assigned sequence libraries for the one or more lower level engineering projects for configuring the one or more field control systems. The parallel configuration process is to perform a parallel configuration process which configures the first sequence library for the first engineering project, while assigning the first sequence library to another one or more lower level engineering projects.
