The present disclosure comprises a method, a communication module, and a system for transmitting diagnosis data of a field device that is connected to a superordinate unit via a communication loop. The communication module is connected to the communication loop in parallel with the field device. The method includes the continual storage of electrical energy in the communication module by a transducer unit within the communication module that captures an electrical and/or physical variable and converts it into electrical energy. The method includes polling the diagnosis data of the field device by the communication module and wireless transmission of the polled diagnosis data to a reception unit by the communication module.

The status information from the smart devices belonging to the secondary gateway is received from the secondary gateway, and the status information from the smart devices belonging to the primary gateway is received directly from the smart devices belonging to the primary gateway. A control instruction for controlling a second smart device is generated in response to status information from a first smart device complying with an interworking rule, where the first and second smart devices communicate using different standards. The control instruction is transmitted to the second smart device.

An example apparatus includes a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio, and a power manager to determine whether to divide a first computation task into at least a second and a third computation task based on (1) energy stored in a power supply associated with the BLE radio and (2) a charging rate of the power supply, and when the first computation task is to be executed by the BLE radio and the first computation task is divided based on the determination, instruct the BLE radio to enter a sleep mode after the second computation task is executed, and invoke the BLE radio to transition from the sleep mode to an operating mode to execute the third computation task, the invoking in response to a measurement associated with the power supply satisfying an energy threshold.

A package scanning conveyance system that integrates a first two-dimensional image with at least a second two-dimensional image or a three-dimensional point clouds to calculate or estimate a package's physical properties, and/or determine if there are two or more packages in a pile. The captured imaging data is transformed by the inventive system to provide real-time feedback to a human operator to enable the operator to maintain an understanding of the system's performance. The imaging data may also be used to perform quality-checks on other parts of the package delivery and conveyance systems and document the condition of packages that have passed through the system.
