Systems and methods for ultrasound review and imaging
A system for reviewing results of ultrasound examinations provides enhanced control over reviewed images. A review and imaging system receives additional data comprising one or more of additional ultrasound images generated using parameter settings different from those selected by and sonographer and earlier stage ultrasound data. An ultrasound machine may be configured to acquire and make the additional data available to the review and imaging system. The review and imaging system may provide a wide range of control options for obtaining optimized display of images based on the additional data.
Virtual image with optical shape sensing device perspective
A system for providing a perspective for a virtual image includes an intraoperative imaging system (110) having a transducer (146) configured to generate an image data set for a region. A shape sensing enabled device (102) is configured to have at least a portion of the shape sensing enabled device positioned relative to the region. The shape sensing enabled device has a coordinate system registered with a coordinate system of the intraoperative imaging system. An image generation module (148) is configured to render a virtual image (152) of at least a portion of the region using the image data set wherein the virtual image includes a vantage point relative to a position on the shape sensing enabled device.
VISUALIZING A MEDICAL PROBE IN A FOUR-DIMENSIONAL ULTRASOUND IMAGE
Medical systems and methods are provided in which a processor receives the 3D ultrasound images and receives position signals from a position tracking device, indicating the position of a corresponding probe relative to the 3D ultrasound images. Based on the probe position, a region of interest is selected that contains the position the medical probe within the 3D ultrasound images, and the selected region of interest is rendered to a display together with a representation of the medical probe superimposed on the region of interest.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATICALLY ANALYZING PLACENTA INSUFFICIENCY IN A CURVED TOPOGRAPHICAL ULTRASOUND IMAGE SLICE
A system and method for automatically analyzing placenta insufficiency in a curved topographical ultrasound image slice is provided. The method includes acquiring, by an ultrasound system, an ultrasound volume of a placental anatomy section, the ultrasound volume comprising color Doppler information. The method includes extracting, by at least one processor of the ultrasound system, a topographical ultrasound image slice at a distance below an inner surface of the placental anatomy section. The topographical ultrasound image slice is curved in all three dimensions and includes the color Doppler information. The method includes analyzing, by the at least one processor, the color Doppler information of the topographical ultrasound image slice to generate perfusion data information. The method includes causing, by the at least one processor, a display system to present the topographical ultrasound image slice with the perfusion data information.
ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE
On the basis of voxel data for a plurality of voxels constituting a set of ultrasound volume data, a voxel group identifying unit 50 identifies, in said ultrasound volume data, one or more voxel groups formed by a plurality of voxels in which voxel data satisfy a condition of being linked. On the basis of the voxel data for a plurality of voxels corresponding to each voxel group to be displayed, from among the one or more identified voxel groups, an image forming unit 80 forms an ultrasound image in which the voxel groups to be displayed are indicated clearly in a selective manner. It is thus possible for a three-dimensional image to be formed in such a way that one part of the image, such as floating matter in the amniotic fluid, does not interfere with another part of the image, such as a fetus.
Method and apparatus for noninvasive absolute (mean) intracranial pressure (A-ICP) measurement and/or monitoring
Non-invasive measurement of intracranial pressure (ICP), for example mean ICP. A probe adjacent the head emits energy, such as ultrasound, and receives reflected signals. A processing unit derives ICP waveform from the signals. A pressure mechanism applies external pressure intermittently to outer surface of the head and incrementally increases the external pressure. The processing unit is configured to detect a decrease in amplitude of the ICP waveform (occurring in some embodiments only after an intermediate period of ICRS compensation), the processing unit configured to determine the ICP of the person from a sum of applied external pressures from a time of the initial value A1 until a final value at which the amplitude remains stable with additional increase in applied external pressure. In some cases, the final value is earlier than that but the processing unit extrapolates the sum to when the amplitude remains stable with additional increases in pressure.
