Ultrasound imaging system with automatic image saving

Ultrasound imaging systems for automatically identifying and saving ultrasound images relevant to a needle injection procedure, and associated systems and methods, are described herein. For example, an ultrasound imaging system includes a transducer for transmitting/receiving ultrasound signals during a needle injection procedure, and receive circuitry configured to convert the received ultrasound signals into ultrasound image data. The image data can be stored in a buffer memory. A processor can analyze the image data stored in the buffer memory to identify image data that depicts a specified injection event of the needle injection procedure, and the identified image data can be stored in a memory for archival purposes.

Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods to detect a moving anatomic feature during a treatment sequence based on a computed and/or a measured shortest distance between the anatomic feature and at least a portion of an imaging system.

Enhanced catheter navigation methods and apparatus

Methods, apparatus, and systems are provided for facilitating the navigation of a catheter between first and second locations within a subject based on display of serial images corresponding to positions of the catheter at successive incremental times. Image production includes sensing catheter positions to produce location data for each time increment. For each position P.sub.i, the corresponding location data is processed to respectively produce an image I.sub.i reflecting the position of the catheter at a time T.sub.i. Each image I.sub.i is successively displayed at a time equal to T.sub.i+d, where d is an image processing visualization delay. Upon a condition that the catheter is displaced to a selected interim location between the first and second locations, the processing of the location data is switched from being performed by a first process associated with a first visualization delay to a second process associated with a second different visualization delay.

Super Resolution Ultrasound Imaging

An apparatus includes a processing pipeline with a stationary structure motion corrector, a stationary structure remover and a flowing structure detector. The stationary structure motion corrector is configured to motion correct stationary structure in a series of ultrasound images for subject motion, wherein the series of ultrasound images includes the stationary structure and flowing structure. The stationary structure remover is configured to remove the stationary structure from the motion corrected series of ultrasound images thereby producing flow images of the flowing structure. The flowing structure detector is configured to detect peaks of flow of the flowing structure in the flow images over time to generate images of detected flow peaks. The images of detected flow peaks are accumulated over time to generate a high resolution ultrasound image.

The disclosure provides for a method for generating an ultrasound image that includes transmitting, by a plurality of transmitters in a transducer, at least two transmit beams at different angles, where at least parts of the transmit beams cover an overlapping region, and receiving, by a plurality of sensors of the transducer, reflected signals of the transmit beams. The method further comprises calculating channel coherence for the received signals to produce one or more channel coherence images, and calculating transmit coherence for the received signals to produce one or more transmit coherence images. The information from at least one of the channel coherence images and at least one of the transmit coherence images are combined to identify moving objects. The received signals from different transmits in overlapping regions are then processed to produce a final image that is compensated for the moving objects.

Systems and methods are provided for motion corrected wide-band pulse inversion ultrasonic imaging. A first pulse is transmitted, a second pulse is then transmitted after a delay, with the second pulse having different polarity. Echoes of the first pulse and the second pulse are received, using a reception bandwidth that enables capturing at least a portion of a fundamental portion of each pulse. The echoes are processed, and corresponding ultrasound images are generated based on processing.
