MARROW ASPIRATION DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE
A bone marrow aspiration device may include a housing having a proximal end and a distal end; a cannula, insertable into a tissue, extending from the distal end; a ratcheting mechanism coupled to the housing; a reservoir configured to receive a fluid; an actuator operatively coupled to the ratcheting mechanism and to a distal surface of the bone marrow aspiration device such that user-actuation of the actuator actuates the ratcheting mechanism to draw fluid through the cannula, into the housing, and into the reservoir, and retracts the cannula relative to the distal surface.
Bone marrow harvesting needle improvements
A bone marrow aspiration device and associated method includes an introducer needle assembly and an aspiration needle assembly. The introducer needle assembly includes an introducer cannula having proximal and distal ends, each end including an opening, and a screw assembly coupled to the introducer handle. The screw assembly includes a threaded tube and a lead screw receivable in the threaded tube. An outer cover is disposed around and in sealing engagement with the threaded tube and the lead screw. The aspiration needle assembly is receivable in the introducer cannula and includes an aspiration cannula forming a channel for aspirating bone marrow and including a flexible portion that extends from a distal end along a length of the aspiration cannula. A length of the aspiration cannula that extends beyond the distal end of the introducer cannula is adjustable by advancing the lead screw into or reversing the lead screw out of the threaded tube.
Puncture instrument and puncture device
The present invention provide a puncture instrument capable of administering (supplying) a drug solution. The puncture instrument includes a puncture tip section (2); a first tubular body (3) connected to the puncture tip section (2) at the distal end; and an outer tubular body (5) at least partially covering the first tubular body (3). The first tubular body (3) is formed to be rotatable around an axis along the longitudinal direction. The first tubular body (3) has an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the outer tubular body (5). A drug solution supply path (5a) is provided on the outside of the first tubular body (3).
Connective tissue progenitor cell aspiration and processing system
A method of treating soft tissue conditions. A harvesting device is provided. The harvesting device is operably connected to a tissue processing device using tubing. An aperture is formed in a bone. The bone has an interior. The harvesting device is inserted through the aperture in the bone and into the interior of the bone. The harvesting device is manipulated to dissociate connective tissue progenitor cells in the interior of the bone. Tissue is aspirated from the interior of the bone. The connective tissue progenitor cells are separated from the aspirated tissue. The separated connective tissue progenitor cells are injected in a region of a body that is experiencing a soft tissue condition to treat the soft tissue condition.
Drill bit with delivery device fitting and method of use thereof
A device for drilling into bone includes a luer portion having a luer thread. A bit portion is rigidly coupled to the luer portion, the bit portion configured to be detachably coupled to a bit driver. An adapter portion is rigidly coupled to the bit portion. A drilling portion is rigidly coupled to the adapter portion, the drilling portion comprising a flute configured to create a hole in the bone. A channel extends through the luer portion, the bit portion, the adapter portion, and the drilling portion.
Rotary drive tool for coupling of a surgical instrument
A rotary drive tool for coupling of a surgical instrument, the rotary drive being intended to be enclosed within an envelope in such a way that the rotary drive tool can be used in a sterile environment. The rotary drive tool has a body with an end configured to removably engage the envelope intended to enclose the rotary drive tool. A coupling piece is disposed within the body, the coupling piece engaging and driving, in rotation, a surgical instrument.
Kyphoplasty system and method
A kyphoplasty system includes various instruments which can be selectively used in a surgical theater (e.g., during a surgical operation on a patient) or a surgical training environment. The kyphoplasty system can include one or more of a kyphoplasty apparatus, a prone table mat, a connector system, a bone introducer needle, and a biopsy device. The kyphoplasty system may also include a training system for use in the training environment.
BONE MARROW ASPIRATION AND BIOPSY DEVICE
A biopsy and aspiration device that can include an outer cannula that has a plurality of apertures formed in an outer surface, a biopsy stylet insertable into the outer cannula having a beveled tip portion and slits formed in the main body, and an aspiration stylet also separately insertable into the outer cannula having a plurality of apertures formed in the main body and an optional sealing element associated therewith. One or more of the apertures of the aspiration stylet can be aligned with one or more of the apertures of the outer cannula.
Method and apparatus for attaching a reference marker to a patient
Systems and methods for attaching a reference marker to a patient in a computer-assisted image-guided surgery system. An apparatus for attaching a reference marker to a patient includes an elongated member extending between a first end and a second end, a sharp tip located proximate to the first end of the elongated member that is configured to break through a cortical surface of a bone of the patient to enable the elongated member to be advanced into the bone, an anchoring device that is extendable from the elongated member in order to anchor the apparatus within the bone and inhibit relative movement of the apparatus and the bone, and a reference marker device comprising at least one optical marker configured to enable the apparatus to be tracked using a motion tracking system.
POWERED DRIVER ACTUATED BY FORCE ON DRIVESHAFT AND RELATED KITS, COMPONENTS, AND METHODS
Powered drivers operable to insert an intraosseous device into a bone and associated bone marrow are disclosed. Some of the present powered drivers may include a housing having a distal end and a proximal end; a motor disposed in the housing; a driveshaft at the distal end of the housing; and a gearbox coupled to the motor and to the driveshaft. Activation of the motor causes rotation of the driveshaft. The housing may include a power source configured to power the motor. The driveshaft may be slidably disposed in the housing and configured such that, upon application of a threshold force on the driveshaft in the direction of the proximal end of the housing, the driveshaft will slide toward the proximal end of the housing to cause an electrical circuit between the motor and the power source to close.
