In response to activation input, the power tool controls a motor for driving power tool operation and wirelessly transmits a control signal to a vacuum. In response to receiving the control signal, the vacuum controls a motor for driving operation of the vacuum. The power tool, the vacuum, or both include a wireless communication pairing butting for paring the power tool and the vacuum. The power tool and/or the vacuum may be cordless and powered by a battery pack.

To be able to achieve shorter communication cycles, the invention proposes a communication system which is able to connect field devices to a higher-order control device. For this purpose, a connection device is provided which is connectable to a higher-order control device via a transmission medium. The connection device has at least one first port and at least one second port, to each of which a field device may be connected. The connection device has at least one functional device which is switchable between at least one first port and at least one second port. The functional device is designed to generate output data intended for the second port in response to the input data arriving at the first port.

A method and apparatus for linking an automation device to a data processing system is disclosed that creates a virtual device in the data processing system for the automation device. An identification number is generated in the data processing system as a function of a classification of the virtual device in the data processing system for identifying the virtual device. The identification number assigned to the virtual device and passed to a configuration tool that is designed to configure the automation device. The identification number is assigned by the configuration tool to a configuration dataset that is then loaded onto the automation device, stored in the automation device, and used by the automation device for the interaction of the automation device with the data processing system.

The present invention relates to a computer-implemented method for monitoring at least one exhaust gas purification system for purifying an exhaust gas stream to be purified of an industrial system or an industrial process. The method comprises retrieving system data of the exhaust gas purification system from a data cloud. The system data stored in the data cloud were at least partially received beforehand by the data cloud from the exhaust gas purification system. The system data relate to at least measurement data of at least one sensor of the exhaust gas purification system and/or data about at least one adjustable parameter of the exhaust gas purification system. The method further comprises determining at least one quantity characterizing the exhaust gas purification system based on the retrieved system data.
