Surgical access device comprising internal retractor
Devices, methods, and systems provide a surgical access device comprising an internal retractor device integrated with or coupled to a body wall or wound retractor. The wound retractor retracts an opening in a body wall into a body cavity, while the internal retractor permits a user to control the positions of internal structures within the body cavity, thereby permitting a user to define a surgical field. Embodiments of the internal retractor are adjustable.
Attachments for use with a surgical access device
A surgical access attachment for use with a surgical access device is disclosed. The surgical access attachment includes a ring and an access portion assembly. The ring is configured to engage a proximal portion of a surgical access device. The access portion assembly includes at least one flexible tab having an engagement structure. The engagement structure is configured to selectively engage the ring. The access portion assembly is configured to retain a seal. The access portion assembly is configured to disengage from the ring in response to a predetermined amount of force exerted on one flexible tab of the at least one flexible tab.
Surgical device
A seal comprises a first sealing member and a second sealing member. The sealing members each have an accessway to facilitate access from one side of the sealing member to the other side of the sealing member. The accessways are offset to facilitate sealed access of an object through the sealing members.
Instruments and Methods for the Implantation of Cell-Seeded Ultra-thin Substrates
A surgical instrument, and methods for its use, is described that includes clamp heads that can be nestled within or extended from a tubular sheath by longitudinal movement of the clamp heads' tines with respect to the tubular sheath. One of the tines includes an arch that slides against a mouth and inside wall of the tubular sheath, causing the clamp heads to open or close. The clamp heads close lightly, to within a predetermined (or zero) distance from one another, gently grasp an ultrathin polymer substrate seeded with cells, and pulls it within the sheath such that the substrate curls and folds to protect the cells.
Trocar assembly with pneumatic sealing
A trocar for use in a minimally invasive surgical procedure includes an elongated body, nozzle means and means for delivering a pressurized flow of fluid to the nozzle means. The elongated body has a generally tubular configuration with coaxially arranged inner and outer walls and longitudinally opposed proximal and distal end portions, with the inner wall defining a lumen to accommodate passage of an instrument therethrough. The nozzle means is operatively associated with the inner wall of the body for directing pressurized fluid into the lumen to develop a pressure differential in an area within a region extending from a location adjacent a distal end portion of the lumen to a location adjacent a proximal end portion of the lumen, to form a fluid seal around an instrument passing therethrough.
MEDICAL DEVICE, METHOD AND SYSTEM THEREOF
Embodiments of the invention are directed towards a medical device, method and system thereof for the placement or passage of patches, sutures, anchors, tags, tissue sensors and more particularly to a medical device for repairing female pelvic organ or tissue prolapsed region. The device may be used for the placement of sterotactic markers into tissue near joints or tumors for guidance during orthopedic or neurosurgical procedures.
ACCESS DEVICE
A surgical access system comprises a first access device and a second access device. The first access device comprises expansile chambers which define inflation spaces. A region of overlap between the chambers of a first layer is offset from a region of overlap between the chambers of a second layer. The walls of the inflated chambers are movable for passage of an object such as a surgeon's arm/hand whilst maintaining a seal. The second access device comprises a housing, at least one valve mounted to the housing and a flexible film to which the housing is mounted.

ACCESS DEVICE
A surgical access sealing device comprises expansile chambers 306, 307, 308, 309 which define inflation spaces. An upper layer 304 in one case comprises two chambers 306, 307 which are overlapped when uninflated. A lower layer 305 comprises two chambers 308, 309 which are also overlapped, when uninflated. The region of overlap between the chambers 306, 307 of the first layer is offset from the region of overlap between the chambers 308, 309 of the second layer. The walls of the inflated chambers are movable for passage of an object such as a surgeon's arm/hand whilst maintaining a seal.
