Operating mode setting for automatic doors
A control arrangement (20) for an entrance system (10) having one or more movable door members (D1 . . . Dm) and an automatic door operator (30) for causing movements of the one or more movable door members (D1 . . . Dm) between closed and open positions is provided. The control arrangement (20) comprising a controller (32) configured to control operation of the automatic door operator (30) in a selected operating mode among a plurality of operating modes. The control arrangement (20) is characterized in that it comprises communication means (58), and the controller (32) is configured to communicate via the communication means (58) with an external computing resource (110) to set the selected operating mode.
Controllers for optically-switchable devices
This disclosure relates generally to optically-switchable devices, and more particularly, to systems, apparatus, and methods for controlling optically-switchable devices. In some implementations, the apparatus includes an interface for communicating with window controllers, and the apparatus includes one or more processors. A processor can be configured to cause status information received from a window controller to be processed. The status information can indicate at least a tint status of one or more optically-switchable devices controlled by the window controller. In response to receiving the status information, one or more tint commands can be sent via the interface to the window controller.
Multiple interacting systems at a site
Disclosed are platforms for communicating among one or more otherwise independent systems involved in controlling functions of buildings or other sites having switchable optical devices deployed therein. Such independent systems include a window control system and one or more other independent systems such as systems that control residential home products (e.g., thermostats, smoke alarms, etc.), HVAC systems, security systems, lighting control systems, and the like. Together the systems control and/or monitor multiple features and/or products, including switchable windows and other infrastructure of a site, which may be a commercial, residential, or public site.
DISPLAYS FOR TINTABLE WINDOWS
A tintable window is described having a tintable coating, e.g., an electrochromic device coating, for regulating light transmitted through the window. In some embodiments, the window has a transparent display in the window's viewable region. Transparent displays may be substantially transparent when not in use, or when the window is viewed in a direction facing away from the transparent display. Windows may have sensors for receiving user commands and/or for monitoring environmental conditions. Transparent displays can display graphical user interfaces to, e.g., control window functions. Windows, as described herein, offer an alternative display to conventional projectors, TVs, and monitors. Windows may also be configured to receive, transmit, or block wireless communications from passing through the window. A window control system may share computational resources between controllers (e.g., at different windows). In some cases, the computational resources of the window control system are utilized by other building systems and devices.
Method for data communication with a domestic appliance by a mobile computer device, mobile computer device and domestic appliance
A method for data communication with a domestic appliance by a mobile computer device. The domestic appliance and the mobile computer device are interconnected or interconnectable via a wireless data connection. The wireless data connection is adapted for transferring signals between the domestic appliance and the mobile computer device. Further, the present invention relates to application software for the mobile computer device. Moreover, the present invention relates to a domestic appliance. Additionally, the present invention relates to a mobile computer device including a display or touch screen.
Control method for tintable windows
A method of controlling tint of a tintable window to account for occupant comfort in a room of a building. The tintable window is between the interior and exterior of the building. The method predicts a tint level for the tintable window at a future time based on lighting received through the tintable window into the room at the future time and space type in the room. The method also provides instructions over a network to transition tint of the tintable window to the tint level.
USER CONTROL OF SMART HOME SYSTEM
Described herein are systems, methods, devices, and other techniques for implementing smart windows, smart home systems that include smart windows, and user devices and applications for control thereof. A smart window, or photovoltaic window, may include a photovoltaic configured to generate electrical power from incident light onto the photovoltaic window, store the electrical power, and send the electrical power to an electronics package or various electrical loads including a wireless communication system, sensors, or window functions. The photovoltaic window may communicate with various smart home system devices such as hub devices and user devices, which may include the reception of control data at the photovoltaic window and the transmission of sensor data captured by the window sensors.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT TAMPER DETECTION
A tamper detection apparatus includes a switch and a tamper detection circuit with a non-volatile memory in an industrial product enclosure. In response to the switch detecting a door or panel of an industrial product enclosure being open when an electronic component or system in the enclosure is unpowered, the tamper detection circuit stores a tamper event code in the non-volatile memory. After the electronic component or system is powered, a system processor obtains the tamper event code from the tamper detection circuit and refrains from operating a machine or process pending reset of the industrial product by a user.
DOOR CLOSER DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEM
A door closer diagnostics system including a door closer, a server, and a mobile device having a display and at least one sensor. The mobile device is configured to (i) generate, by the at least one sensor, motion data indicative of motion of the door as the door is moved from an open position to a closed position, and (ii) transmit the motion data to the server. The server is configured to analyze the motion data to (i) determine a duration the door was in each of a plurality of door movement zones between the open and closed positions, (ii) determine at least one adjustment to the door closer for a successful installation of the door closer based on the duration the door was in each of the door movement zones, and (iii) transmit at least one installation instruction corresponding with the at least one adjustment to the mobile device.
