Endoscopic ultrasound fine needle aspiration device

A handle for a medical device includes a proximal segment defining a proximal lumen extending therethrough and sized and shaped to receive an endoscopic medical device therein. A medial segment is received within a distal portion of the proximal segment and has an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter thereof. A medial lumen extends through the proximal segment and is open to the proximal lumen. A distal segment is received within a distal portion of the medial segment and defines a distal lumen extending therethrough open to the medial lumen. The distal segment has an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the medial segment. The medial segment includes a first movement limiting mechanism limiting movement of an endoscopic medical device inserted therethrough along an axis of the distal lumen and a second movement limiting mechanism limiting advancement of an endoscope attached to the distal body portion.

INSERTABLE ENDOSCOPIC INSTRUMENT FOR TISSUE REMOVAL

An improved flexible endoscopic instrument to precisely and efficiently obtains samples of flat polyps and multiple polyps from a patient by debriding one or more polyps and retrieving the debrided polyps without having to alternate between using a separate cutting tool and a separate sample retrieving tool and may be used with an endoscope. In one aspect, the cutting tool is coupled to a flexible torque coil or torque rope that is configured to transfer rotational energy from a powered actuator through the length of the endoscope onto the cutting tool.

Systems and methods are provided for injecting one or more agents into tissue within a patient's body that includes a catheter. A needle guide extends from a distal end of the catheter and terminates at a distal tip, e.g., including a foot with an atraumatic contact surface, the needle guide having a cross-section smaller than the distal end and being biased to a curved shape. The needle guide includes a passage communicating from a lumen of the catheter to an outlet at the distal tip, and a needle device is disposed within the passage that may be deployed from the outlet to inject one or more agents into tissue. The catheter also includes an imaging assembly on the distal end configured to acquire images of tissue adjacent the needle guide distal tip.

A medical manipulator system according to the present invention is provided with: a manipulator; a manipulator channel; a route that extends along the manipulator channel; a shape sensor that detects shape information of the manipulator channel; a shape-sensor driving portion that causes the shape sensor to be driven; a manipulator driving portion that causes the manipulator to be driven; a positional-information calculating portion that calculates positional information of the shape sensor on the basis of a driven amount of the shape-sensor driving portion; a shape estimating portion that estimates a bent shape of the manipulator on the basis of the shape information of the manipulator channel and the positional information; a control-parameter calculating portion that calculates a control parameter of the manipulator from the bent-shape information; and a manipulator controller that controls the manipulator on the basis of the control parameter.

SUTURE METHOD

A suture method includes a first arrangement step of using a first treatment device including first/second grasping pieces to hook the first grasping piece to a first position of peripheral tissues of a lesion; a second arrangement step of hooking the second grasping piece to a second position of the peripheral tissues; a grasping step of grasping the first position and the second position while pressing the first position and the second position to the peripheral tissues; a retracting step of retracting the lesion site toward a proximal end side of the first treatment device while drawing the first position and the second position grasped by the first treatment device; and a suturing step of suturing a first suturing position at an external side of the first position and a second suturing position at an external side of the second position in the peripheral tissues.

ENDOSCOPIC TREATMENT TOOL

An endoscope treatment tool includes: a forceps having a first forceps piece and a second forceps piece; and a joint. The second forceps piece includes a forceps cup, a first tooth, a second tooth, a third tooth, a fourth tooth. A length from a tip of the first tooth to a tip of the second tooth in a longitudinal direction defines a first length, a length from the tip of the first tooth to a tip of the third tooth in the longitudinal direction defines a second length, and the first length is shorter than the second length. A length from the tip of the first tooth to a tip of the fourth tooth in the longitudinal direction defines a third length and the second length is shorter than the third length.

Magnetic anastomosis devices and methods of delivery

The invention concerns delivering paired magnetic anastomosis devices to either side of tissues to be joined. The magnetic anastomosis devices are coupled to a guide element that facilitates delivery and manipulation of the devices when using minimally-invasive techniques such as endoscopy and laparoscopy. Elongated manipulators and guide tubes ae also disclosed that improve a user's dexterity with the devices during placement.

An apparatus includes a hemostasis valve; a base having a clamp releasably coupling a catheter to the base; a base drive member moving the base relative to the hemostasis valve along a first path; and a mechanism maintaining the position of an elongated medical device relative to the hemostasis valve while the catheter is being moved along the first path.

SIDE LOOKING MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY INSTRUMENT ASSEMBLY

A surgical instrument may comprise an elongated shaft extending between a proximal end and a distal end and defining a longitudinal axis. The surgical instrument may also comprise a plurality of cables extending along the longitudinal axis and a first bending section positioned between the proximal end and the distal end of the elongated shaft. The first bending section may comprise links having pairs of articulation holes extending longitudinally through the links to permit the plurality of pull wires to pass therethrough. Each pair of articulation holes may comprise first and second articulation holes that are spaced apart from the longitudinal axis (i) at different radii and (ii) at a same rotation angle.
