The invention described herein generally pertains to a system and method for evaluating one or more conditions or preliminary weld condition related to a welding system and/or method that utilizes a welding sequence to perform two or more welds with respective welding schedules. In an embodiment, an operator registration is provided that verifies the operator and identifies welding sequences to which the operator is authorized to perform. In another embodiment, one or more fixture locations are monitored to determine whether a workpiece is accurately configured prior to a welding operation. In still another embodiment, locations on a workpiece can be displayed to assist an operator in performing two or more welds utilizing a welding sequence. Moreover, a wireless system communications a data signal to a welding work cell in which such data is used to identify a welding sequence.

A manual workstation operating method includes: receiving, from a remote data-processing device, information relating to partial operating steps for producing a component at a manual workstation unit, the partial operation being established from order data by the remote data-processing device, displaying the information with respect to the partial operating steps by a user interface of the manual workstation unit, detecting component status data of the component by a sensor of the manual workstation unit, and transmitting at least one of the component status data and a production progress of the component based on the component status data to the remote data-processing device, such that the remote data-processing device can detect the production progress of the component and communicate completion of the component to a user or a data-processing system.
System and Method for Stemming a Wheel
A stemming system is disclosed. The stemming system includes a computing device, a stemming device and an algorithm. The computing device includes data processing hardware and memory hardware in communication with the data processing hardware. The data processing hardware includes a transmitter and a receiver. The stemming device is communicatively-coupled to the computing device. The stemming device includes a base portion and a valve-engaging portion. The valve-engaging portion includes a transducer that obtains a measurement communicated to the receiver of the computing device. The measurement includes at least one physical parameter associated with installing a tire-wheel assembly valve to a wheel throughout a process of disposing the valve within a valve hole of the wheel. The algorithm is executed by a processor of the data processing hardware for analyzing a data signature associated with the measurement for determining if the valve has been adequately or inadequately installed by the stemming device.
NOVEL APPARATUS AND SYSTEM ADAPTED TO ENABLEEFFICIENT MANUFACTURE OF WIRE HARNESSES
The device, system and process of the present invention greatly reduces the time and space necessary to assemble a wire harness enables efficient manufacture of wire harnesses. The present invention comprises at least a wire viewer module, a machine vision and optical character recognition module, a cassette tray platform, designed to receive and hold in place a cassette tray, having one or more receptacles designed to receive and hold in place a wire harness connector, having multiple pin-hole cavities illuminated from below or behind by a light source mounted on a two-axis translation stage or gantry to identify a cavity for wire insertion. Moreover, the present invention may further comprise a portable, computer-implemented system capable of executing a series of automated process steps designed to identify wire markings and guide the error-free insertion of identified wires into wire harness connector pin-hole receptacles for assembly of a wire harness.
MANUFACTURING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS
A manufacturing assistance apparatus includes a display, an imaging device, a completion determining unit, and a display controller. The display is configured to display operation information that is related to any of operation processes of a workpiece. The imaging device is configured to perform imaging of the workpiece, and output image data obtained by the imaging. The completion determining unit is configured to determine whether current one of the operation processes is completed, on a basis of the image data outputted from the imaging device. The display controller is configured to cause, when the current one of the operation processes is determined by the completion determining unit as being completed, the display to display the operation information that is related to subsequent one of the operation processes.
AIRCRAFT ASSEMBLY TRACKER SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The disclosure herein describes an aircraft assembly tracker system including a user interface configured to display an aircraft part under assembly and overlay one or more zones on the displayed part. The user interface operates on a computing device. The zones represent different panels to be affixed to the aircraft during assembly and their shape displayed on the user interface is identical to the shape of their corresponding panel being affixed to the physical aircraft part. The aircraft assembly tracker system monitors the assembly progress of each zone and automatically alerts aircraft assembly workers when the zone is ready for closure.
