Method and apparatus for intraluminally occluding hollow or tubular body structures
11191548 · 2021-12-07 · ·

Catheter-based devices and methods for endoluminally accessing and occluding hollow anatomical structures are disclosed. Occlusion clips are contained in one or more needles that pierce opposing walls of the anatomical structure to deploy the clips externally of the structure. The clips then are drawn together to press the opposing anatomical walls together.

MEDICAL DEVICE FOR CLOSURE OF A VASCULAR ABNORMALITY

A medical device includes a first end, a second end, and a central segment proximate a middle of the medical device and about which the medical device is symmetrical. The medical device also includes a pair of inner reverse bends spaced from the central segment by a first body plane extending from the central segment to the pair of inner reverse bends in a first longitudinal direction, and a pair of outer reverse bends. The outer reverse bends are spaced from the pair of inner reverse bends by a second body plane extending from the pair of inner reverse bends to the pair of outer reverse bends in a second, opposite longitudinal direction, and the outer reverse bends are spaced from the first and second ends of the medical device by a third body plane extending in the first direction from the outer reverse bends to the first and second ends.

Closure device with fixed jaw hook

A device includes a capsule extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a channel extending therethrough. The capsule is releasably coupled to a proximal portion of the device. Device also includes a first arm rigidly fixed to the distal end of the capsule to extend distally therefrom. In addition, Device includes a second arm, a proximal end of which is slidably received within the capsule so that the second arm is movable between an open configuration, in which the second arm is moved laterally away from the first arm and a distal end of the second arm is moved distally past the distal end of the first arm, and a closed configuration, in which the second arm is moved toward the first arm and the distal end of the second arm is moved proximally toward the distal end of the first arm.

Lock for medical devices, and related systems and methods

A lock for positioning a first medical device with respect to a second medical device includes a spacer for preventing advancement of the first medical device towards the second medical device. The spacer is movable between a lock position and an unlock position. In the lock position, the spacer is moved transverse to the longitudinal axis with respect to the unlock position. The lock further includes a rotary stop integral with the spacer for fixing the rotational position of the first medical device with respect to the second medical device. The lock further includes a clip integral with the spacer and removably securable to the first medical device in a first position to secure the spacer in the unlock position, and removably securable to the first medical device in a second position to secure the spacer in the lock position.

CLIP DEPLOYMENT TOOL AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

A laparoscopic device comprising: (a) a housing operatively coupled to a first control and a second control; (b) an end effector operatively coupled to the first control, the end effector comprising a first component and a second component selectively repositionable with respect to one another within an X-Y plane, the end effector also including a third component selectively repositionable with respect to the second component within an Y-Z plane; (c) a laparoscopic conduit extending between the housing and the end effector; and, (d) an occlusion clip deployment device operatively coupled to the end effector and the second control.

Medical devices for closing anatomical apertures, such as atrial or ventricular septal defects, are disclosed. The medical devices can include a plug body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis. The plug body can include an exterior surface, an interior surface defining an interior lumen, and a seal which can be located within the interior lumen. The medical devices can also include at least one arm member extending through the plug body between the exterior surface and the interior surface of the plug body. In certain embodiments, the medical device can include a distal loop and a proximal loop extending through the plug body. In certain embodiments, the proximal loop can be smaller than the distal loop, such that a top end and a bottom end of the proximal loop can fit within a top end and a bottom end of the distal loop.
